Thad Bosley
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 08:06 PM) Viciedo's average down to .243 and OPS is at .683. Hard to imagine he's back next year if he doesn't turn things around. He's a power hitter that doesn't hit a lot of homers and a guy with a great arm that can't catch the ball. He just caught that ball rather nicely.

Feeky Magee
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 09:08 PM) He just caught that ball rather nicely. Sometimes what look like really nice catches are the result of poor positioning and range not quite being poor enough for the ball to fall

Brian
I think with Dunn and Paulie both gone next year, you're looking at Viciedo as out DH unless someone else is signed.
Thad Bosley
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 08:10 PM) Sometimes what look like really nice catches are the result of poor positioning and range not quite being poor enough for the ball to fall Agreed, but that ball was a line drive that got out there in a hurry and was sinking, and he got there and went down and got it. As for positioning on the play, neither of us would have a way of knowing whether he was positioned properly or not on that play.

Feeky Magee
What's the betting we get a pop-up on the first pitch after that at-bat
Chicago White Sox
We desperately need to find a legitimate starting catcher between now and next March. Grandal seems like the perfect target, as he solves two offensive needs (left-handed bat, high OBP). He won't come cheap, but his poor season may make him a little more affordable. Regardless, Flowers needs to go.
