QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 01:29 PM)
Seems like the Sox have always hit into a lot of DPs.

With lumbering guys like Konerko, Thome, Dye, Crede, Flowers, Dunn, Abreu and Viciedo, it can't be surprising.

OTOH, if we built the mid 80's versions of the Royals or Cardinals for USCF, we'd get killed by slugging teams in the summer months...just like the Twins in their new stadium over the last 2-3 seasons.

Well...so much for the idea that Danks had turned any kind of corner.

Stupid throw by Eaton there enables Mauer to get 2nd and ends the opportunity to escape with a tie on a DP ball.

WHAT THE HELL WAS DEAZA DOING OUT THERE JUST NOW??? Did he forget there was just one out? Afraid Mauer was going to 3rd?

13th in defense.

Sigh. This whole season is close to falling apart again (like 2013). Make the plays you're supposed to make. Ramirez, Eaton and DeAza all hurting Danks this inning.

For De Aza, THOSE are the plays that never show up on the statsheet, but where he hurts his team. There was no reason he shouldn't have had that ball measured and ready to throw. Instead he caught that ball up over his head, with no momentum going towards the plate, and gave away a run that shouldn't have happen.
