witesoxfan
I'll eat my Gillaspie crow here. In Spring Training, I suggested keeping Gillaspie over Danks but that it's still just Gillaspie and it wouldn't be a big loss. He's been a great hitter this year and hopefully a long term solution at 3B. That'd be fine by me.
greg775
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 07:24 PM) Whoever it was who was arguing Gillaspie needed to be DFA'd if Davidson had a decent spring is conspicuously quiet in this thread. I also despised Gillaspie because of his defense. I just trusted what posters said about Davidson, how he was a star in the making. Gillaspie's lack of HR power is baffling but he's hitting well so kudos to him.
ILMOU
I was a Soxtalk Meathead who held out some hope for the guy after last season, and it seems to have been rewarded. Davidson looks way too much like a Mike Olt clone for my tastes, though we're running out of positions from which to get sufficient power in the lineup, if Conor has indeed seized 3B. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 02:24 PM) Whoever it was who was arguing Gillaspie needed to be DFA'd if Davidson had a decent spring is conspicuously quiet in this thread. I remember saying that Gillaspie didn't matter in the grand scheme of things for the long run, and if Davidson was ready to go in spring training, that they could just dump Conor. But that dude has turned into a little hitting machine. He has simplified his stroke, and is working with the pitch instead of looking for distance. TheTruth05
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) I'll take his current production over last year. Line drive machine. Exactly. Let Connor hit his way in or out of the lineup, but with the line drives he's been roping this year I have no problem him staying at 3B and at least try and get better with his below average glove. Jose Abreu
In Charlotte, Davidson is hitting .196 with 13 HR and 27 RBI. Last year he was .280/17/74... wow. I knew he was struggling but I didn't know it was this bad.
