2-0 to Nelson Cruz, one of the BEST HITTERS IN THE DAMN WORLD right now. You KNOW he can easily hit a grand slam in a hitter's count. So when you already miss with the first two, DON'T GIVE HIM ANYTHING GOOD TO HIT! Is it that hard? I would've preferred pitches close to the zone, and if he walks, then great, only one run, get the next guy.

2-1 count I thought

No reason to blame Putnam.

Downs was bad in spring training -- and has only gotten worse.

Contract is the only reason he's still around.

Leesman could not be worse.

Purcey wasn't bad last season, although not in high pressure situations.

Sierra seemingly mistimed his leap, as well. Might have been catchable.

At any rate, if there's ANY game to push the White Sox into sell mode, it's blowing this one, and two of three in the series.

It was not catchable

And that's no longer as compelling, as Hahn was willing to pull the trigger on the Keppinger mistake quickly.

They have to pay him $250,000 for next year's buyout, but the bullpen is destroying the morale of this team.

Agree.

Not to mention the morale of Sox Talk.

Can't stand the sight of Downs.

He just doesn't have it any more. It happens. Wish it didn't. But it does.

Both Hawk and Stone kept wondering why he never threw the fast ball high and in to Davis.

Downs must not have the confidence to believe he can execute that pitch.

Certainly doesn't feel like a game we'll win now, of course. Who knows, though...

Time flies. It seems like just yesterday, your signature timer was at 138 days... now it's under 100...

I wish we had a lefty specialist who I don't know... GOT OUT LEFTIES!!! Great concept actually..

Also why did he take out Putnam anyways for Downs? It's not like lefties are killing Putnam right now. And Davis just got a hit off of Downs the night before

Anyone????

The fact that we're using Javy Guerra in the 8th inning of a tie game in Baltimore at midseason is just as telling as using Maikel Cleto in high leverage situations earlier in the year.

Correction, bases loaded 4-0 high leverage situation...then tie.

Guerra has a history of being a pretty decent reliever. His peripherals this year are ok, nothing great, but nowhere near as bad as Cleto's were.

Yeah, the season is draining away right in front of us, and these types of games just make it dreadful to watch.

Thing is, I have no clue what Hahn can do to fix this bullpen. The Charlotte bullpen is as bad as you will see. I wonder if they would consider Surkamp or Heath in the pen?

De Los Santos was in their thinking for a moment. Who knows. They never gave Purcey another chance.

Gordon Beckham's quickly falling back towards mediocrity again...by the way.

Isn't Hahn in Baltimore?

Just wonder if the Chairman will eat another contract, after eating Keppinger's?

I don't care what they do with him this year, as long as they don't let his option vest for next year.
