greg775
Let's face it. We root for a last place team again. Two years in a row. How many years of last?

Feeky Magee
Lol. Oh well. I'm not gonna cry about close defeats late in games this year. At the end of the year we'll be wishing we'd lost each of these ones.
South Side Fireworks Man
LOL! White Sox baseball. And they wonder why they can't draw anyone on a nice day. What a waste of time.
fathom
Fitting end. Webb needs to be demoted. It's unreal how bad this bullpen has become.
greg775
So Markaikis is on the list of Sox killers. At least he's a better player still than Joe Mauer.
Soxfest
This team f***ing blows lose up 4-0 tonight and and 5-0 at Angels both in 8th inning. greg775
Should Webb be converted to being a starter? Maybe he'd get in rhythm. He can't be a reliever walking everybody in sight then throwing meat.
Soxfest
Time to end the why doesn't Webb get a chance to close talk for good.

greg775
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 05:23 AM) Time to end the why doesn't Webb get a chance to close talk for good. He did not pitch like a major leaguer there. He looked like a guy begging to be sent down. He was as bad as you can be against major league hitters. fathom
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 05:24 AM) This. I thought it was ironic that Hawk was so closely monitoring Detroit and Cleveland games, even though in a few months that some Sox fans could be rooting for Rangers and Diamondbacks for other reasons. caulfield12
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 10:22 PM) Should Webb be converted to being a starter? Maybe he'd get in rhythm. He can't be a reliever walking everybody in sight then throwing meat. Petricka is the more likely candidate. He has three pitches, more of a starter's repertoire. Webb has 1 1/2, and he's lacking life on his fastball, in the tune of 3-5 MPH. He's destined to become another version of Nick Masset at the rate he's going. Bigsoxhurt35
To be honest, I don't really care anymore. Just watching Abreu. This team sucks, and is going nowhere. Sell off what we can and regroup in the offseason
chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2014 -> 11:22 PM) So true Yea this a million times. This team was f***ING AWFUL last year. Like one of hte worst teams in baseball. This year they are merely bad, perhaps even decent if you were in a expected contention year and they spent 10 million on the bullpen. That's progress. I mean, you have quite a few good players, guys that you'd expect to be worth 2-6 WAR on a yearly basis: Conor, Eaton, Jose, Alexei, Sale, Q. You throw in Garcia and Rodon and you got two more potential stars and at worst, probably solid everday players. Rodon a 3rd starter (or elite closer) and Garcia an average RF. We need a 2B, a LF, a C, a DH (shouldn't be too damn hard to find a DH once we are rid of Dunn) and a s***load of pitching. That's way, way better than last year. and to add: our worst contract is now far and away John Danks. That is f***ing so helpful and Hahn deserves a lot of credit for it. Also he owned his mistake right aaway on Keppinger. I think Hahn is doing a great job. People should realize 75 wins, with maybe half a dozen down to just an awful pen, is pretty dman good pgoress for a team that rid itself of quite a bit of old, over paid vets. Oh Konerko is still around god damnit. That's one thing I'm upset about. Hahn should have put his foot down and threatened to resign. I'm only half kidding, what a f***ing waste. greg775
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 05:37 AM) We need a 2B, a LF, a C, a DH (shouldn't be too damn hard to find a DH once we are rid of Dunn) and a s***load of pitching. That's way, way better than last year. Yes a s***load of pitching. We need basically a whole new bullpen again. Only guy who might be serviceable might be Nate Jones and I say might. Webb needs to start over and must be sent down now. He's a wreck up here now. We also need two righty starters to go with Danks, Sale and Q. Two GOOD righty starters by the way. I agree all we need lineup wise is 2B, LF, C, and DH, just like you said. The outfield of new guy in left, Eaton and A. Garcia should be good enough. 1dog
We need a C, LF, and a bullpen. Take care of those and they'll be watchable. Maybe. Edited June 26, 2014 by 1dog
