BlackSox13
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) They brought him up?? I guess so. He's listed as tonights starter for Birmingham but so is Surkamp with Charlotte so it sounds like Beck went to Charlotte when Surkamp went to Chicago. ChiliIrishHammock24
I wonder if they are going to let him loose him in AAA now? No more working on things, and see how he can put it all together?

ILMOU
Anderson, Hawkins, May and Barnum all with strong Junes. All could really improve their prospect status with continued results.

That Birmingham team is going to be stacked next year, especially if they start Rodon there next season.

At first this season I had a real hard time imagining Hawkins in AA next year. Lately that's much easier to imagine.
southsider2k5
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 01:50 PM) It sure is. At first this season I had a real hard time imagining Hawkins in AA next year. Lately that's much easier to imagine. At the rate he is going, he might finish the season there, especially if they get to the post season. I like to ask this, do you really think moving him up either now or later will help. the reason I and asking is I feel like he is getting his game back. the same game potential that made him a our #1 pick. let him fully get his confidence going. however the base professional will know more than I would. your thoughts are appreciated. I say that with no real opinion on the matter, but rather the history the White Sox have of moving top prospects up if the level above them makes it into the playoffs. They like to expose them to a bit of pressure, when they can.

ILMOU
May and Barnum rising from the depths of horrendous starts to near-respectability. Both can bust through 700 OPS soon, and maybe that's just the start. May also on a SB tear of late.

Stoltz told me last night that a move to Birmingham may be beneficial to Hawkins not because not he deserves to play in AA, but because Birmingham is a very pitcher friend park vs. W-S which is very hitter heavy. Thinks it may help Hawkins learn to be a better hitter by not swinging for HR all the time. He thinks Hawkins skipping over Kanny was a mistake for that reason, park factor.
