BigHurt3515
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) Well, it's important in terms of its outcome, but to me it's not something that players really control. Anyway, interesting to see other people's perspective on things. How do they not control it?
GGajewski18
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:46 PM) Leury providing his always stellar D....not. He's been such a disappointment defensively. I mean that was a tough play, he had to go a long way....

Doesn't the Sox have any coaches to work on that with DV? Most high school kids know better than that. Edited July 2, 2014 by Soxfest
caulfield12
Viciedo now gunshy about throwing the ball. That's where you absolutel gun the ball to 3B, trying to get Trout. He had a decent shot at him. Something's going on where Viciedo's making mistake after mistake in his decision-making process. Coaching failure...

caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:50 PM) He needs to be a DH. It doesn't matter how well you throw if you can't catch or get into proper throwing position. The exasperating thing is he really did it well in 2012. I hope it's not the case where he loses focus/concentration (like Rios or DeAza) when the team's not in first place and kind of just coasting along and playing out the string. Feeky Magee
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 09:46 PM) How do they not control it? They obviously control each at-bat, but the extent to which pretty much every player's stats with RISP and non-RISP vary each year indicates that players don't really hit better or worse in general with RISP, and that any disparity is just statistical randomness. If you take general stats and break them down into chunks, you're going to get statistical oddities when comparing the chunks (hence my day/night example), particularly when the sample is so small. It doesn't mean it's a good indication going forward.

caulfield12
This inning's evaporating quickly. Well, now it's officially time to start looking forward to 2015. White Sox just got outplayed/outmanaged and the tail end of the rotation was outpitched, not surprisingly. Angels going for the SEASON sweep tomorrow. Or do they have another series with them? Hope not. Edited July 2, 2014 by caulfield12

fathom
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 04:56 AM) Oh well. To me, it's becoming obvious the core going forward is: - Sale - Quintana - Danks - Petricka - Abreu - Eaton - Avi Garcia - Gillaspie Outside of those 8, there are a lot of roster spots to be filled or earned by the likes of Micah Johnson, Davidson, Semien

He was kind of forgotten/overlooked since he became a reliever, like Saladino, as a former Top 10 prospect who had faded.
