Eminor3rd
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 10:58 AM) Heyman detailed 60 players that could be available at the deadline. Lots of White Sox as expected. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-he...go-or-have-gone Heyman mentions that Danks has been pitching well now that he's two years removed from Tommy John surgery. Seriously, how does this guy have a job?
GGajewski18
6. John Danks (#4 now with Samardzija and Hammel traded but interesting to see him this high) Ugh, Heyman said Danks had TJ..... 19. Alexei Ramirez 33. Adam Dunn 43. Gordon Beckham 48. Dayan Viciedo
caulfield12
Interesting to see Addison Reed on the trade market again. We should check out Detwiler and Doubront (lefty again, so that works a bit against him) for the back end of the rotation. Among outfielders, there's Cuddyer, Quentin, three Phillies (Brown, Mayberry and Revere) as well as Desmond Jennings. Jennings and Brown would seem to be the most interesting...as Cuddyer is likely to stay in COL.

He could be a nice under the radar trade for cheap.

We have clones of most of them as it is. Detwiler's been declining since he turned 27.

Wait the Cardinals were willing to trade Wacha for Peavy??

He "reported" that it was discussed. That could have ben Hahn asking for Wacha and STL saying NO. *shrug*

As I recall, it was a Peavy/Ramirez package that warranted those guys being discussed.
royoung
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 01:24 PM) Have you looked at Jake Peavy's numbers this year? Yep. He's continued to decline like you would expect a 33 pitcher would. Which is exactly why I'd be pissed if Boston gets more in a trade for him. Chisoxfn
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) Wait the Cardinals were willing to trade Wacha for Peavy?? If any of those names came up in talks for Peavy and Hahn didn't make it....shakes head is all I can say. I presume those reports are eronious. Names might have been requested by the Sox, but I am going to guess St. Louis wasn't offering back.

Bigsoxhurt35
We need to capitalize on this deadline. Move Danks, Ramirez, Beckham and Tank.
Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) You don't make moves because you can. Although I want to move Beckham and Viciedo, but Ramirez and Danks are conditional on return. I agree. Just saying this organization needs talent. We have some chips to move. Not saying just trade to just trade.
Baron
This isnt like last year...the only guy we should move is Gordon. Everyone else can stay as far as I'm concerned.
caulfield12
Where is this idea coming from that we don't control Viciedo's rights through at least 2016, should we so choose to?
greg775
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 09:30 PM) We need to capitalize on this deadline. Move Danks, Ramirez, Beckham and Tank. If the Sox have designs on contending in the next year or two, it would be smart to hold onto the Big Three of Sale, Q and Danks. Now they desperately need two standout righties to join them in the rotation. That's a pretty good group of lefties right there. I'd prefer to keep Lexi, but I agree it's time to see what you can get for Tank and Beckham. Semien allegedly has potential and could replace Beckham with no problem.
