caulfield12
Flowers 0 for his last 17. Did avoid his 100th K. There's that.
fathom
Whatever tweaks they made to Flowers' swing a few weeks ago has given him even less of a chance at the plate. I rather he go back to what he was a year or two ago and try and pull everything hard.

caulfield12
Beckham 0 for his last 21. I think 2 for his last 28 Surkamp warming. Not sure for who/m. Ortiz with two loud 410 feet outs to the Triangle. Belisario not fooling anyone. Edited July 9, 2014 by caulfield12

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Or just try and get hit by the ball.. I played DIII baseball 8 years ago, I honestly think I could go up there and put up a similar line to what he's done the past 100 PA or so. For one thing, I'd f***ing chock up on the bat a little bit and look dead red fastball every single time. His approach is awful for a guy with that slow of a bat. caulfield12
Tanaka is coming back down to earth. There's two schools of thought. Either he's getting tired/not used to the schedule and weather OR the book's getting out to lay off the splitter and force him to use other pitches. With him seeing teams for the 2nd and 3rd time (especially in the AL East), it will be interesting to see where he ends the year.
fathom
QUOTE (lord chas @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 01:32 AM) Gordon with no plan at the plate. Not even close to making contact Seems to be pulling the ball a lot. Been a long time since he hit a gapper for a double to right center.

caulfield12
Good recovery from Ronald to not give up the run there. Much more comfortable in the 7th and 8th. Surkamp and Putnam were warming, so the 9th must be Petricka. Even though he's not the official closer now.

caulfield12
Dunn now 1 for 11 with 6 K's against Miller. Why didn't we use Konerko...at least turn their bullpen over??? Dunn had zero chance there. Edited July 9, 2014 by caulfield12
