Wheeler and Guerrero are interesting. Mitchell is too but look at his walks.

And why do people still seem to forget that the heart of the White Sox pen was taken out early on with the two most likely closer candidates, Jones and Lindstrom, going down early? Few bullpens in baseball could take that without struggling.

I dont think the guys we lost are very good either. So it just says that collectively, the bullpen is the weakest link of the team.

Just curious, Josh, but why are you comparing Trey to Corey Seager?

I think he's the games elite 3rd base prospect not name Kria Bryant and Trey and Corey Seager have similar profiles.

Lindstrom was very mediocre anyway, and Jones had no closer experience, still prefer him as a set-up man for what should be Reed...or reincarnated Jenks...Reed probably could have gave us a dozen more wins this first half alone

You cannot be serious. A dozen more wins? You think with Reed here, and no Eaton, this team would have been 15 or more games above .500? Meanwhile Reed has been one of the least successful closers in baseball.

Jesus, is there still people who think we got Eaton for Reed? I mean I know Davidson has had a rough year, but geez.

Even so... if the trade was Reed+Santiago for Eaton, I am sure the Sox would still make that trade... hindsight is 20/20. I was pretty cheesed off when they traded Santiago, but now I'm all like "ya I'm just some dumb fan".

I don't think anyone is arguing that (well.. maybe except Jon) and you weren't the only one with Santiago. It's just a personal peeve of mine. It's bad enough Melton and even Hawk has said it.

Reed has been mediocre at best this year, and that has been in the NL. When I say he would have fit well into the Sox pen, that is to say he has sucked as bad as anyone else out there.

And he'd have cost the Sox those 6 wins in other games giving up more walk offs to Giambi.

I liked Addison Reed, but he's not that good of a pitcher.

Naturally, I found it. Have you checked out Reed's numbers lately? They're virtually Belisarian, except that I feel Belisario actually has a chance to save his season. I do not feel the same of Reed.

D'OH! I still get those two deals confused, don't ask me why. Sorry.

Point remains - the idea that Reed gives us 12 more wins is ridiculous. Whatever return we got for Reed (Davidson) just adds to the silliness.
