Rex Hudler
Cotts missed out on the leage ERA title by an inning and 2/3.
Chisoxfn
Dang, Cotts got hit pretty hard in his first start back. Also notice Borchard hitting still. Anyone have his splits over the last month or so. He must be around .350 or so.
Jordan4life_2003
I'm a lil worried about that Cotts stat line.
Jim Fainter
We should bring up Borchard for September, even if he doesn't play much. He finished on a hot streak, so we should keep him busy with the big club. What else is he going to do.

winninguglyin83
still be good to bring Borchard up to pinch hit, play defense or even pinch run good to see he finished over. 250 for the season after languishing in the .220 for most of the season. let him get a taste of a real pennant race also nice to see Reed finish the year over. 400 at Birmingham My question: What kind of prospect is Bajernu? seems as if he finished the season strong
southsider2k5
I am soooo glad to see Joe B hitting again. Hopefully this means that nagging wrist injury is gone, and he is ready to go. And incidentally, to Bobby Seay :fyou
Chisoxfn
I wouldn't bring Joe up. I think he's had too much ups and downs thus far over the past year and a half. The Sox don't really have a need for him and I'd let Joe finish the year on a strong note. Then have him work some things over the offseason as well as get a lot of rest for that wrist and next year will be his opportunity. If the Sox were going to call someone up for pinch running, defense and some ocassional pinch hitting, I think you'd call up Reed. And I'm not necessarily saying htey should do that. Right now I'd probably call up Rios and thats about it and a catcher, positional wise.

Maybe one game he'll pinch run and be the deciding factor. It's not like he's a prospect that we don't want to screw with.
winninguglyin83
I don't believe Reed is on the 40-man roster. Plus, Birmingham is in the playoffs. They need him. and he's going to the Arizona Fall League. we won't see Reed. Plus, Borchard already has some experience in The Show.
Rex Hudler
Borchard hit .254 in August (not counting today)......... He hit .287 in July
Rex Hudler
I'm a lil worried about that Cotts stat line. I saw Cotts pitch today, and while he wasn't sharp, I am not too worried..... He didn't walk anybody, but did get hit around a bit....... IN the five-run inning, there was an error, a misplay not called an error that could have gotten him an out, and another mental error that didn't help. He was scheduled to pitch no more than 4 innings if he was cruising. The fact he walked no one to me showed that he is okay. Keep in mind he had only pitched 1/3 of an inning in the last 9 days. winninguglyin83
let's hope Cotts can do what Olivo did last year -- have a strong playoff and carry some positive thoughts into the off season.
Jim Fainter
I don't think Rios is on the 40 man roster either. There's been so many changes lately, I just hope the Sox brass has a handle on it.

I don't really see any of them coming up. Then again, Borchard does have experience so bringing him up so he can experience a playoff push could be a nice thing. He could maybe learn some things on the bench talking to Carl Everett and some of the other vets like Alomar, etc.

Chisoxfn
Rios is not on the 40-man roster..... There isn't an open slot on the 40 either is there? I Know Rios went down to Charlotte cause he has family there and thus far in Charlotte he's been an great leader and mentor/teacher to the players.
