BlackSox13
WTF Rodon? Spencer Adams is 18 with better numbers!
Feeky Magee
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:54 PM) What's his FIP though? FIP = ((13*HR)+(3*(BB+HBP))-(2*K))/IP + constant (generally around 3.20) So, 0+0-2+3.20 FIP of around 1.
Jose Abreu
Not the biggest farm system follower. Why is Chris Bassitt playing in rookie league? I thought he was better than that.

Jose Abreu
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 11:05 PM) Coming back from injury Has he ever reached AA? Wouldn't he start at least in A?
caulfield12
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:05 PM) Has he ever reached AA? Wouldn't he start at least in A? MLB teams always do this....just like with Rodon, where he's getting his feet wet in AZ and then will be in Winston-Salem on the 28th. It's partially based on convenience, where a spot start is open, location of the game...he will be moved very quickly back up if he shows he's ready. Lots of MLB teams place their rehabbing players in A ball, it's nothing unusual. Edited July 23, 2014 by caulfield12

flavum
Danner RBI single saves Rodon from getting the loss.
chitownsportsfan
so he touched 96? Did he throw much off speed stuff? Probably telling him to take it slow to start, given Hahn's awesome quote about him not "having thrown a pitch in anger in a few months". Man, if I was in PHX area I would be there, just show up after a few innings watch him and go home. Very exciting to see him in the fold. Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
Anyone interested in one of Wilkins' bombs from tonight: http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...87&sid=milb I'm assuming they chose this one of the two he hit tonight since it went roughly 450 feet and almost left the stadium. caulfield12
Weird...every time I try to get it to play, it skips to the Pagnozzi video for the Sounds. Oh, well.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) Side not, I wonder if Recchia might get a call in September, almost striking out 1 an inning this year with few walks. I'm as big a believer in Recchia as anyone - I think he's got the stuff and approach to be a 4/5 starter in the majors or a solid setup guy. But even I would not consider an MLB assignment this year, even for a cup of coffee. More likely he sees AAA at some point for a few starts, and goes into 2015 as starting pitching depth in Charlotte, waiting for a chance.
