Nada. Holding my phone in case.

Just saw Dodgers say they aren't unloading Kemp. Yeah right.

I have long said I want Kemp but I don't see the Dodgers putting enough cash along with Kemp for it to make sense that they move him.

Rick Hahn NOT making any trades doesn't mean he did nothing at the deadline.

He has 5 or 6 players he realistically could trade. If the return isn't fair, why make a trade for the sake of making a trade.

Sox fans: "...for the sake of Pete! Trade somebody! Anybody!"

followed shortly by "They only got Francisco Cervelli for Alexei Ramirez? WTF, why didn't they get more, FIRE HAHN"

Well shouldn't they just give Beckham to whoever wants him? (Assuming no one wants to give anything decent) no point in keeping him. Unlike the other trade candidates, Beckham is blocking 3 other players

Except the three players he is blocking aren't really ready, so moving him just accelerates someones timeline and puts them in a situation where they may not thrive. The only reason to do that is if you get something of value back that makes such a proposition worth your while.

Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 37s

Just did some math and ballpark estimate, John Danks is still owed about $33.2 million on contract over two-plus seasons. #WhiteSox

Which is why it makes so much sense to move him. We have a nice young core and a lot of flexibility and while the Sox can't blow it all in one off-season, not by a long-shot, there just isn't much value in having your payroll tied up with bloated payrolls. Keep it flexible so we can continue to target young assets, potentially even ones who we can get and then sign to longer term deals (+ allow us flexibility to extend guys that show that they fit into the new core).

I really am surprised no one is out there making a decent offer for Dunn. And by Decent I mean like a #10 prospect in your system or a low A arm or bat or two. Maybe Sox don't see enough value there and figure he's off the books anyway this off-season (and in theory, you can keep him while still giving it the ole college try this year).

Score just said Levine saying Danks may go just 4-5 innings, to allow time for a trade.

Its like a few years ago when Ubaldo made a start for Colorado and then got trade during the game. Him starting doesn't mean he can't get traded. He can go to a team that doesn't mind him making his first start in 5 days.

That move was widely criticized.

If you think hes getting traded, you dont put him out there and risk a freak injury. The Red Sox scratched Lester yesterday for that reason, the White Sox scratched Peavy a year ago for the same reason. If he starts, it means they are not close to a deal and he more than likely won't be dealt at all.

Agreed. If someone is willing to take Beckham he should be gone regardless of the return. He is absolutely terrible and is blocking some talented players at AAA. Dunn should also be traded if there is a taker because the Sox obviously aren't making the playoffs this year and he won't be part of the team going forward. With respect to the rest of the players you don't make a trade just to make a trade but if a team is willing to take Danks' contract I wouldn't need a very high return to part ways with him.

The Chicago Homer ‏@TheChicagoHomer 20m

What if Robin Ventura walks out to the mound in the 2nd inning and just hugs John Danks for like 20 seconds and then walks back to dugout?

South Side Sox ‏@SouthSideSox 19m

@TheChicagoHomer Moises Sierra would want to get in on that.

This is true, the other stuff you've been saying isn't.

If Danks goes out there it means they are not close to finalizing a deal. IF HOWEVER the Yanks cave and say "Okay we'll take that contract off your hands" then if John Danks is on the mound Robin will go out there and get him immediately.

As long as the deadline is in effect he has a chance to be traded.

So leave and come back at 3.

Well, I suppose I should say you can believe a report when it comes, but it's probably unwise to read too many tea leaves #hugwatch
