QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 10:01 PM)
-Peavy's Final White Sox Start:

7/25/13: 7 IP, 4 ER

-Danks Tonight:

7/25/14: 7 IP, 4 ER

-Abreu, Viciedo, and Flowers had big games

Nice win. Correia had nothing and the lineup made sure the box score reflected that.

I regret not being around at the time to get this on the record, but I didn't like Robin sending Danks out for the seventh.

He had given up a couple loud outs in the sixth and we had the big lead so it seemed like a good night to just yank him early. That homer by Arcia was not a cheapie.

Eh...we don't have a good bullpen. Rest em up.

Doesn't really matter unless we were trying to trade Danks, and then no GM's going to fault him for throwing strikes with a 9-1 lead.

What are we going to do with Flowers if he keeps this up again for the next two months?

Quite the enigma. One way or another, I hope it's clear going into the offseason what Hahn needs to do. Another thing to keep in mind is who he's doing it against. It's the Twins in this series, not the Tigers, A's or Athletics. Still, it's nice to see he didn't completely go into the tank and is fighting back.

Offense reminiscent of April. Saw the early 3-0 lead and just knew it had to be Abreu.

I disagree. I think it was a good night to let the bullpen rest. We were up 6 when he came out in the 7th I believe. I would rather overwork Danks then the bullpen at this point in the season

Danks pitched well but man, the Minny lineup is not good. Facing Danks, who has struggled badly with control this year, they go up there aggressive and Danks did a lot of pitching backwards it seemed starting with offspeed stuff to grab a strike.

That said, I still don't really see anything that points to anything other than 4/5th starter out of John. He still doesn't have nearly enough command to pitch well at 88-89 but I will say he seems to have more movement on his stuff than earlier in the year. I haven't checked the stats, but it seems he's getting more swings and misses than earlier.

Good effort from John, an easy guy to root for, wish he wasn't a facsimile of his pre shoulder surgery self but it is what it is.

Offense wise, it was a few bloops and a few blasts and I'll take it. The Sox have a number of good hitters, they just need a few more average ones.
