farmteam
Hope everything is ok. What's the plan for whenever Reinsdorf steps down/is no longer with us? Passes to Einhorn/rest of the ownership group? Passes to Michael Reinsdorf?
Jake
QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Hope everything is ok. What's the plan for whenever Reinsdorf steps down/is no longer with us? Passes to Einhorn/rest of the ownership group? Passes to Michael Reinsdorf? I believe Michael will run the Bulls and the rumor was that he'd probably sell the team/his stake in the team in the case of the Sox. This was talked about recently in the media, so someone will remember better than I do

Or, to put it another way, who better to own this particular group of Sox than Mark Cuban?
Dick Allen
Reinsdorf's heirs acquire his control. There was a big Tribune story about it last year. JR wants them to sell when he is gone. I know for a fact that Michael Reinsdorf would love to run the White Sox. I do have an inside source for this. It is a fact I posted in 2005 about blueprints for 3 structures in the parking lots. JR was balking. Michael wanted them built. 2 have been built. The bar and grill and the store. There were plans for a bar on the other side of the park as well. Tannerfan
Decoupling the White Sox from the Bulls in reguard to TV broadcast rights would be bad for the White Sox. Can you imagine Ricketts starting a Cubs channel with the ability of getting the Bulls to join him? Not good for us I think.
BlackSox13
Don't go leaving us Jerry. Im not ready for my favorite baseball team to be re-named the Titicaca White Sox. Seriously, glad Jerry is OK. Get well soon! Edited July 26, 2014 by StRoostifer
hi8is
Just give me 3 years - I'll buy and will vow to keep the Sox where they belong.

The third structure was going to be on the 37th Street side? I'm trying to picture where that would be. By the school?

I would imagine like on the 3rd base side, the ramp would have been knocked down(I have read the shelf life on those ramps isn't very long) and it would be in there just like the bar on the other side. There was talk years ago about a "grand entrance" type of development by gate 6( the gate closes to the dan Ryan and train lines). I had an artists rendering of a potential renovation that had included rooftop style seating/party space replacing some of the ad boards, but I doubt it survived in my hard dive between pcs. Part of that design included what became the fundamentals deck. One other idea was to move the sox offices to a seperate building, likely where the player parking lot is, and the sox would guy the office space for additional seating and amenities, with an eye towards street level businesses and entrances. The new building was also rumored to have rooftop seating or a large suite. Edited July 27, 2014 by ewokpelts
