shysocks
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) Conor should be hitting second. I don't care if he's left-handed. When you have a guy with a .370 OBP batting 6th and the rest of your lineup sucks, you're doing it wrong. Gillaspie against lefties: .213/.250/.280. He's rightly sitting today. chitownsportsfan
Viciedo can't even hit LHP anymore, he's useless. Kinda pissed none of these guys are looking like they are getting moved. All of them are dead weight, Dunn, Viciedo, Danks, Beckham.

I'm not talking about today specifically. I've felt he should be hitting second for a while now. But Robin won't do it because it'll put Eaton and him back to back. Dick Allen
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:03 PM) Milone for Fuld.... De Aza couldn't be traded for him? Milone is an extreme flyball pitcher. And if all Beane could get was Fuld, it means a lot of other teams weren't as impressed with Milone as apparently you are. Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
Sad state of affairs for the Sox when the team that needed OF help the most traded for Chris Denorfia instead of De Aza or Viciedo. So it looks like the Sox will have 3 non-tenders this off-season.

Fuld has an bop of .370 and plays great defense.
knightni
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) Batting Ramirez 2nd is retarded in the first place. Beckham should be 2nd today. He hits LHP so well.
fathom
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) Sad state of affairs for the Sox when the team that needed OF help the most traded for Chris Denorfia instead of De Aza or Viciedo. So it looks like the Sox will have 3 non-tenders this off-season. Beckham and Viciedo have been awful this year, so it's no shock they're not in high demand. ADA hasn't been very good either. It's been a very bad year for the Sox in terms of developing assets at the MLB level outside of the core guys.

According to this fancy FIP stat that I'm now coming around on, Milone is only slightly better than Carroll.

Dick Allen
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) Fuld is a better player than De Aza. Fuld has an bop of .370 and plays great defense. From a baseball standpoint, I'd take De Aza over Fuld. Fuld is obviously better defensively, but offensively he should regress. He's been pretty bad most of his career. He is basically a defensive replacement/PR to me.
chitownsportsfan
Imma go on the record and say this is an awful move by Robin. We'll see how it plays out.
Jake
I'm happy with the lineup as constructed. I'd prefer Dunn behind Abreu and I don't like putting Gillaspie in a position (after Eaton) where he is bound to see more LHP. Where he is, his non-power hits can drive in the runners ahead of him.
