AN example of how great SoxTalk is

The use of the Nazi flag to refer to moderators at any cyber site is, in my opinion, an insult to the 6 million Jews and the 6 million homosexuals, gypsies, Communists, trade unionists, socialists, developomentally disabled, selected Eastern Europeans, and members of the resistance who died in the concentrations camps.

Nothing that any moderator does is in any way remotely similar to the Holocaust.

It also cheapens the symbol of evil to use for anything one doesn't like, and makes that symbol of hate easier and easier to use.

If a symbol for a threat to free speech is needed, there are plenty: try Ashcroft, as in, "those mods at WSI are a bunch of Ashcrofts" for example. (I don't know whether they are, just an example.)

But for the sakes of those who died in the concentration camps at the hands of the Nazis, please do not, I respectfully request, use the Nazi symbol for when someone is banned from a baseball message board.

Let me find a macro that says Shut The f*** Up, I'll be right back.

Give me a f***ing break and go cry in your pillow. Do I have to remind you that the swastika was actually a symbol in church before Adolf ever used it, or are you too ignorant to know that?

I highly doubt that a majority of Jews/Homosexuals/Gypsies are really going to take offense to someone labeling someone as a Nazi on the internet.

Should I honestly care what one person thinks about such a moronic statement?

whether you care or not is up to you

but ignorance of the Holocaust and a comparison of cyber forum baseball moderators to the perpetraors of Auchwitz is obscene.

And I know far, far more than you do about the swastika, my friend, and what was posted was not an ancient Aryan symbol, what was posted was a Nazi flag - and since the Nazi era any contemporary use of the swastika is a referance to the Nazis anyway.

Now you know a lot more than me about the minor leagues.

But there is a far wider reality than the oh so horrid cruelty of a wsi mod banning a poster and that does not compare to Shoah.

I will embrace and be everything you despise.

It is called the incarnation, and our call to be incarnate with all who are oppressed.

BABI YAR

By Yevgeni Yevtushenko

Translated by Benjamin Okopnik, 10/96

No monument stands over Babi Yar.

A steep cliff only, like the rudest headstone.

I am afraid.

Today, I am as old

As the entire Jewish race itself.

I see myself an ancient Israelite.

I wander o'er the roads of ancient Egypt

And here, upon the cross, I perish, tortured

And even now, I bear the marks of nails.

It seems to me that Dreyfus is myself.

The Philistines betrayed me - and now judge.

I'm in a cage. Surrounded and trapped,

I'm persecuted, spat on, slandered, and

The dainty dollies in their Brussels frills

Squeal, as they stab umbrellas at my face.

I see myself a boy in Belostok

Blood spills, and runs upon the floors,

The chiefs of bar and pub rage unimpeded

And reek of vodka and of onion, half and half.

I'm thrown back by a boot, I have no strength left,

In vain I beg the rabble of pogrom,

To jeers of "Kill the Jews, and save our Russia!"

My mother's being beaten by a clerk.

O, Russia of my heart, I know that you

Are international, by inner nature.

But often those whose hands are steeped in filth

Abused your purest name, in name of hatred.

I know the kindness of my native land.

How vile, that without the slightest quiver

The antisemites have proclaimed themselves

The "Union of the Russian People!"

It seems to me that I am Anna Frank,

Transparent, as the thinnest branch in April,

And I'm in love, and have no need of phrases,

But only that we gaze into each other's eyes.

How little one can see, or even sense!

Leaves are forbidden, so is sky,

But much is still allowed - very gently

In darkened rooms each other to embrace.

-"They come!"

-"No, fear not - those are sounds

Of spring itself. She's coming soon.

Quickly, your lips!"

-"They break the door!"

-"No, river ice is breaking..."

Wild grasses rustle over Babi Yar,

The trees look sternly, as if passing judgement.

Here, silently, all screams, and, hat in hand,

I feel my hair changing shade to gray.

And I myself, like one long soundless scream

Above the thousands of thousands interred,

I'm every old man executed here,

As I am every child murdered here.

No fiber of my body will forget this.

May "Internationale" thunder and ring *3*

When, for all time, is buried and forgotten

The last of antisemites on this earth.

There is no Jewish blood that's blood of mine,

But, hated with a passion that's corrosive

Am I by antisemites like a Jew.

And that is why I call myself a Russian!

And yes.. I'm being an ass. After the thread I just read ripping wsc a new rear end for posting BS... I'm a bit confused as to why one poster gets called out, and you get a pass. Now before you get all fiesty on me... I don't think anyone deserves that s*** I just read. It was sickening. And if, and this is a general statement to anyone it may apply to, you can't pass up an opportunity to s*** on someone on a message board.. then you're the one with the problem not the one posting 80 BS posts a day.

JMO.

And for the record BH, no offense. Just making my point.

Firstly, Steff I respect you as a knowledgable Sox fan but here a place where we differ.

1) Nobody said you had to read that thread with WSC.

2) BigHurt doesn't have a history of using violent and overt sexual language at other people for no reason but WSC does. I can link to many scenes of this if you would like.

3) Nobody said you had to read this thread.

No offense intended. Just saying is all.

:fthecubs

Just tell her she's "doable " and looks 25. She'll forgive ya. :P

 ........OHHHHHHHHH ok ill try it
