Adam Dunn pitches

Next, he will take over as the starting shortstop. Soon, he will be managing and GMing the team. Then he will own the White Sox, and he will eventually be elected to be the mayor of Chicago. Shortly thereafter, he will be elected as a Congressional Representative to Congress. Ultimately, he will be the 47th President of the United States of America.

On his first night in office, his Vice President (the leading candidate is Scott Podsednik) will ask him "Gee, Adam, what do you want to do tonight?"

He'll reply "The same thing we do every night, Scott - try to take over the world."

I honestly didn't watch any of the first 8 innings yesterday. As soon as someone posted "Dunn pitching" I just ran into the basement to turn the game on. That was classic, classic stuff. Still disappointed in Beltre taking a walk, he laughed when he got to the batters box, those 1st 3 ball were hittable.

Don't forget he is already a movie star who was at the Oscars this year.

The day Jermaine Dye came in at shortstop was hilarious.

Yes it was. They almost won that game too.

I can't remember where I posted it, but I seriously just talked about Dunn pitching not that long ago. That's why this is so awesome.

An awkwardly detailed breakdown with lots of gifs and charts, lol.

Dunn walked the next batter, Adrian Beltre on five pitches. Then J.P. Arencibia fouled out to first base on the first pitch because of course he did. An Adam Rosales single on an 0-1 count in the next at-bat gave the Rangers a much needed insurance run, and Dunn’s ERA ballooned to 13.64, which is better than John Lannan‘s ERA this year.

He escaped the jam. Adam Dunn threw 22 pitches. 12 of them went for strikes. He threw 20 fastballchanges, a maybecurve and a pretty decent looking slider. He allowed one run on two hits and a walk. He owns a 9.00 ERA, 6.14 FIP and 8.65 xFIP. That’s the exact same line that Erik Surkamp pitched to one inning earlier, and Dunn needed five less pitches.

The pressure is on the hitter when a guy like Dunn is in during a blowout. First off, even Pete Rose wouldn't be as dialed in with the score 15-0. Then you are facing a guy you are supposed to hammer and if he gets you out, especially if it's weak, guys will be on you for a while. So you have the double whammy of less intensity and higher expectation. The last couple of nights would make you forget, but even during BP, guys don't hit every meatball hard. I bet the guys that hit against Dunn, even the ones who did reach, would rather face a pitcher in that situation.

They said he wasnt throwing his hardest, he said he has 10 MPH left in that arm .

To actually get into serious points about Adam Dunn pitching, FanGraphs showed that he didn't have a consistent release point. He probably felt that he has better control at 81/82 and he doesn't want to hurt anybody in a 15-0 game. It's all in fun, throw the ball, throw a couple breaking balls for s***s and giggles, let them hit the ball, find a way to 3 outs, and move on to the next day.
