southsider2k5
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 12:31 PM) To actually get into serious points about Adam Dunn pitching, FanGraphs showed that he didn't have a consistent release point. He probably felt that he has better control at 81/82 and he doesn't want to hurt anybody in a 15-0 game. It's all in fun, throw the ball, throw a couple breaking balls for s***s and giggles, let them hit the ball, find a way to 3 outs, and move on to the next day. I could see how Dunn would have been a bit difficult to hit off of if he did this full time. He has a funky kind of wrap to his presentation, and you don't get a quick clean look at the ball as a hitter. Its not out of a clean slot. Dick Allen
Here are some funny quotes from Dunn today: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...806-story.html#
harfman77
This is Hahns plan to fix the bullpen. Get Dunn to re-sign on the cheap, bring back Casper Wells, and get Leury Garcia some more innings. Seriously though, good move by Robin to give the fans a reward at the end of a blowout and letting the guys have a little fun.
southsider2k5
Doug Padilla @ESPNChiSox 2h Dunn's 457 career HRs are most in ML history for a player making his pitching debut. Jimmie Foxx had 456 when he pitched in '39.
cabiness42
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/adam-dunn-as-a-pitcher/ An awkwardly detailed breakdown with lots of gifs and charts, lol. From the comments: I saw someone tweet yesterday that when Dunn pitched to Beltre, they had a combined 879 career HR (or something in that range), which is probably the highest ever. Actual total is 849, but it still seems to be true.
