NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) Birmingham is on CBS Sports Network tonight at 8 Set to record. I've already seen Recchia in person, and some of these BHAM hitters too, but some I haven't gotten to watch at all.
Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 02:38 PM) So remember when I was all "it doesn't matter if you have a rotation full of lefties, it's not like you ever want to face Chris Sale?" And the three pitches he offers are a 92-96 MPH fastball, a good slider, and a good changeup? And now the Sox have a lefty who throws 92-96 with a good slider and a (hopefully) good changeup? Yeah, get ready to face Sale/Rodon/Quintana b****es. I don't care about an all Lefty rotation. I want the best one possible. Hell Detroits been all Righties except for this year with Smyly and now Price.

Jake
The all-lefty rotation matters primarily in a series format. If a team is particularly strong in one platoon split, will that split be the one that leaves you vulnerable? If you had a rotation with a bunch of Gavin Floyds, even when Gavin was good, a team with a bunch of lefties would murder you in a series

ptatc
QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) But what if they had a bunch of Chris Sales? Not very realistic. What if the opposing team had all miguel cabreras?

LDF
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 08:14 PM) His FB has consistently been 92-96 I think. 80 slider. He's the goods. But we knew that already. A big thank you to the Astros and Marlins. how bout even a bigger thanks to Scott B his agent / advisor for allowing him to sign for what he did. Welll Miggy is only hitting .250 against Sale soooo... I was being sarcastic in response to his all Gavin Floyd comment. Sale and Rodon seem like very similar pitchers as far as their arsenal goes, but they both come from different arm slots and have different motions. I'd say there's no real advantage of facing those guys back to back.

caulfield12
Fwiw, the Rockies started lefties in 21/22 games, something like that. Of course, they're the team with the worst ERA in baseball...however much you're going to correct ERA for that fact.

fathom
Johnson ended up having a mediocre start. Continued the trend of him falling apart after a few innings. Makes me wonder if his future might be as a reliever.
