1dog
Does Hawk not realize he says the same goddamn thing about Beckham every f***ing year? It's getting old, Hawk. Suck on dem stones some more.

2nd_city_saint787
Time to get a little racist...kidding. Iwakuma is such an interesting cat. Fastball is usually in the 89-91 range, which is fairly slow for a RHP and yet he's been one of the better SPs in the game since coming over. His success makes me kinda wanna see the Sox make a play on Kenta Maeda. At just 26 he fits in with what the Sox are doing. Sale-Q-Maeda-Rodon in 2016 would be fantastic. Kudos to Beckham for getting the franchise TV mouthpiece to love him. Of course Gordon is lousy. No hiding that fact.

caulfield12
Alexei Ramirez "posterized" on that pitch. At least he has a sense of humor about it. Garcia's hit will earn him a week of playing time in CF.

Vance Law
Yep, Danks. What is the difference between Sierra and Taylor? Anyone?
caulfield12
Taylor was a top prospect in baseball, about 4-5 years ago. Now he's 29. It's POSSIBLE they give him a shot in September, but the odds of him being a long-time OF solution are probably lower than for Sierra. fathom
Abreu with quite the HR drought. Doesn't help the team seems to try and do everything they can to make sure he's up with no one on.
fathom
Another awful offensive effort. Viciedo is the only one who looks dangerous at the plate this week. Some majors changes have got to be made soon. I'd love to see Avi replace ADA, Semien replace Beckham and Wilkins for Dunn.

This team needs something to wake it up for the final month and change. Last place is calling for the Sox. Time to bring up some new blood and make the entire season one that was interesting, not a total flop.
greg775
Sox have 62 losses. In the AL, you figure Sox will ultimately be passed by Boston (64), Minnie (63). Sox will probably finish ahead of Houston (68) and Texas (70). In the NL, Sox are ahead of only Philly (64), Cubs (65), San Diego (62), Zona (66) and Colorado (70). Barring turning this around, the Sox are probably going to finish ahead of only Houston, Texas, Colorado and Zona and probably the Cubs. Ouch. It doesn't matter....as long as they keep Eaton/Avisail/Sale/Quintana/Abreu/Ramirez healthy. They've all proven they can play...and hopefully Avisail can keep building on his results in Charlotte with the Sox (and soon), where he's just been murdering the ball for a week or so. There's no reason to keep him down much longer, other than having to clear out the major league roster (DeAza, specifically). The next question mark is what happens with Flowers and Viciedo...they still have 45 games left to set the tone for next year or end up being replaced or eminently replaceable. GreenSox
The team is just cracking. They played hard through July, but they couldn't keep it up. Now the studs like Quintana have also lost their mental edge. This happens. Just hope it's a short swoon.

He is a very key component but the jury is still out. The Sox need another 3-5 type hitter in the lineup. At this point, offensive production is questionable next year from C-3B-2B-DH-LF. They seem to have good contact hitters in Eaton and Gillaspie and Alexei has been steady. They need a big bat to protect Abreu. Avisail has shown that he could be part of the solution. But he could also be another Viciedo. Hopefully he gets back soon and gives us hope for one problem solved for next year.
