As this season comes to an end, the more I wish he would have retired last year. With this injury and everything else, he is going out with a whimper, can't even get on the field

I kinda feel like it went ok. Who knows, maybe he helped Abreu with his defense.

There's a week left. Hopefully he can play next weekend, and get the love and then he'll be gone.

I'm a bit miffed to be missing "Paul Konerko Day" as I have tickets for the finale on Sunday, but oh well. I can just catch it on TV then pay tribute on the day that actually makes sense.

It was actually a really good call to have it on Saturday night instead of Sunday.

Packers @ Bears, 12:00.

I'm aware of the reasons for it, but as a person who 1) has had tickets to the finale since February and 2) doesn't give a s*** about football, it is a bit annoying.

Well you said re: Sunday "on the day that actually makes sense" so it didn't seem that you were aware of the reason for it.

Would be surprised if he didn't play in finale. Maybe Paulie doesn't want final game of season to take away from his teammates and thus they are doing day before?

I thought Robin said he'd play him in all four vs. KC. Maybe it'll all depend on how he does Saturday night and who KC is pitching Sunday. Has Robin commented yet? If Sunday's game doesn't mean anything for KC, Saturday's game probably is the right call.

I bet like they did last year where he starts and gets one AB and comes off of the field after he takes the field in the 2nd inning to a standing ovation.

He did that last year because he was injured, it wasn't necessarily for the ovation.

If he plays Sunday, pray he gets a hit, then pull him off - if he doesn't want to play the whole game.

Konerko expects to play most of Sunday's game, if not all of it. "I mean, why not?" he said.

Paul Konerko said he might exit Sunday's game if he went deep in 2nd AB but probably would stay in if he hit a weak dribbler to mound.
