Don't the Angels have a tv deal like the Dodgers coming up soon? If so, money won't be a problem for them. They were already looking for pitching before this news.

Just because you have money doesn't mean you should waste money.

This was like 3 weeks ago. 2011 was 3 years ago. Santiago is wayyyyy better than Danks and 14 times better considering the price

On the day the poll was created, Danks had a 3.99 ERA and had one bad start in his last 10. I voted no and I would have again.

5 s***ty starts later and a deeper look at his peripheral stats, maybe Danks isn't as close to his old self as people hoped. If we could dump his salary for a LH reliever like Santiago, I would lean more towards yes now.

I would take Santiago in a heart beat. Even if you believe he isn't that good or he won't ever improve, it's still a live arm for a contract that can safely be considered a sunk cost at this point.

thats ok, I will take my bag of balls and you can have your live arm. When you get arrested for trafficking of body parts, I will go play catch.

I would trade Danks for a bag of balls. I wouldnt want Hector back because he isnt that good

I would rather take my chances with someone not named Danks or Santiago

Even if you hate Santiago as much as you do, you can't argue for him being any worse than the 6th best pitcher on this staff. And he's probably better than that. At worst, he 's a much needed lefty reliever.

If we got that in return for Danks that would be phenomenal. Though this has approximately a 0 percent chance of happening.

I dont hate him, I just think he is what he is. Inefficient, good arm, maddening. He isnt worth much of anything, and I was very glad the Sox were able to move him in the offseason instead of Quintana.

As if an officer isn't going to question why you have a sack full of testicles in your back seat.

Hector Santiago since June 22nd..

3-0, 53 2/3 IP, 39 hits, 16 ER, 18 BB, 48 K's

2.68 ERA

Why would the Angels trade Santiago, who costs 1/20th the payroll space and has stats which are pretty much the exact opposite of Danks' recent performance? That would be the definition of idiotic by the Angels.

Fireable offense.

The chance to dump Danks is long over.

He's been pitching lousy for a month.

Sox are stuck with him for 2 more years.

Maybe the pen will work better.

If true, they can't just make him a starter by default. We'll need at least 5 guys who are better SPs.

I really don't want to watch another 400 innings of a player, who I used to really enjoy watching, shotputting the ball up there at 86mph.

Where is the math on this?

What math?

He's signed through 2016.

They can't just Keppinger him - he still could rebound to have some value. That and he makes 4X the Salary Keppinger did.

We don't have a lefty in the pen...put him there and see how it works out.

They blew it in July. We were still in it!!!

You can't dump him on anyone, but there is still the possibility of a bad contracts swap.
