Cerbaho-WG
Blue Jays Gary Majewski, rhp White Sox Wait, give me a minute to cry about this horrendous loss! /me tries not to laugh
WSFAN35
Majewski will be a solid big league pitcher one day, I'm honestly sad to see him go, hopefully the sox can get him back, but if not, the best of luck to him in Toronto:metal
Chisoxfn
He's a very good reliever in my opinion. Personally I think of him higher then Joe Valentine, etc. Still, you can't do anything about that.
RedPinStripes
How did they lose him to toranto (again)
Guest hotsoxchick1
jas you really didnt mean that did you??? higher than valentine??? please tell me you were joking........while maj is no loss to us... the valentine loss is going to hurt for a long time to come.....the only other person down in the minors capable of doing half of what joe did is almonte and as much as i like him he aint as good as joe either.......... Chisoxfn
I did say that Michelle, lol. I think pretty highly of Gary, as you can tell. For the past year and a half I've spoken well of this pitcher. I like Valentine too, don't get me wrong. We'll see what happens though, I think both will become decent pitchers, neither will be stars though.
Guest hotsoxchick1
no they may not be starters but joe is going to close the hell out of some games....hes going to be someone to watch in the upcoming years.......
Chisoxfn
I'll pay attention to him, but I think he'll turn into a good middle reliever at best. Thats just me though.
WSFAN35
Valentine... better than Almonte... oh lord... Wasn't his ERA in the Fall league... somewhere around 9? Not to mention, the Sox have Royce Ring who with some seasoning could be a dominant closer in the Major Leagues...
Guest hotsoxchick1
if you have ever seen the two in person doing their thing.. valentine has much more control, and confidence in his work than almonte does.....i like both very much but i liked valentine a bit better... he had better control over what he did on the mound than almonte did.....and before you ask..yes i have watched both men on the mound many times...........almonte i have been through a few seasons now and valentine i saw last year .......... WSFAN35
Valentine can get wild sometimes and loses control of his pitches... not often, but often enough to cause a hazard in the final innings of a game. The main difference between the two is command of their pitches. Almonte throws a nasty changeup low, that breaks down across the knees... Valentine doesn't really have a pitch that defines him, like the changeup for Almonte or Foulke, or Schillings splitfinger, or Clemens forkball.... Chisoxfn
Valentine throws a fastball, but mainly uses a slider. Almonte has a very very good circle change and is compared by many to Keith Foulke.

That sounds like it may be somewhat psychological....which instantly makes me think of Mark Wohlers.
Guest hotsoxchick1
valentine is no more wild at times than almonte is......and if in fact almonte were so good then how come most of his class moved up to charolette and he stayed behind??? valentine would have already been up here with us if seen at spring training i would bet on it... while almonte would be sitting around in charolette, ......
