Bmr31
This game today was a carbon copy of the 2000 playoffs. JM or KW or SOMEONE needs to tell the sox in a playoff type game you cant swing for the fences on every damn pitch. If not, and we do make it to the playoffs, you can expect offensive efforts like todays and ANOTHER 1st round exit. I dont understand. Im just lost. witesoxfan
Maybe, maybe not. You never know. That's the beautiful thing about baseball.
Bmr31
I cant remember being so upset about a loss, this season. THat game should have been won. We cant afford to waste gems and lose.
Wise Master Buehrle
:fyou 3 f***ing leadoff doubles, and they COULD NOT play ANY small ball to get them home. That was very very lame. :fyou :fyou

That wasn't my worst loss of the season, not even close.

I agree with that. This is a major downer. We need to do what the Royals have done all year, and that is come back and kick the s*** out of them tomorrow after a tough loss. I can't remember how many times they've done that this year.
Jordan4life_2003
Is this team built to play small ball? Other than Roberto and maybe Jose I don't see anybody outta our full-time players that can bunt. We don't have a whole lot of speed. Only Maggs is hittin over .300....This doesn't bode well come playoff time...
CubKilla
That is 100% the managers call. JM has no disipline on these guys. None. JM still needs to go regardless of the outcome at seasons end.
Jordan4life_2003
So where were you on the 4-2 road trip? Why do u even stick around if you guys dont think were doing anything in playoffs, if even getting there. One lose, and the team takes a whole new shape with you guys. So annyoing. I was right here with u and the rest of the Sox fans during that trip. And in those 4 wins we were able to hit a lot of hr's and score a lot of runs. That's not small ball. Rewind back to the 2000 playoffs my friend...
Chisoxfn
I cant remember being so upset about a loss, this season. THat game should have been won. We cant afford to waste gems and lose. I agree with you. I am mad at a couple of things. The Sox didn't get many hits, but when they had the opportunities they didn't come through. Manuel has to stress those points after a loss like todyas and use it as an example of what not to do offensively.
CubKilla
There CANT be anyone who dosnt agree with you here. You'd be surprised Some on here make him sound like the 2nd Coming..... Prior's daddy and all that mumbo-jumbo
greg775
I feel your pain, bmr, but we've wasted so many this year I don't get mad anymore. We are either gonna win it or not, but we are not going to do what we should do and pull away from the Twinks and Royals. We are incapable of it this year. I'll give you one thing and that is that this team has no idea how to play small-ball. If you have the bases juiced and nobody out & you score 1 you suck & when you have a dude on third and less than 2 out and you don't score you really suck. At small-ball that is. Carlos Lee bats 2nd. TIME AFTER TIME AFTER f***ing time, with a man on 2nd and 0 outs, he doesnt get the job done. I understand hes a power hitter type guy, but JM HAS to get him outta of the 2 hole. The 2nd hitter MUST be capable of advancing runners for the sake of the team. Carlos is NOT.

But nonetheless in a situation where it calls for the runners to be moved over and say Olivo was up, I wouldn't hesistate to bring up Sandy to bunt. I think both of our catchers are our best bunters, along with Harris, Alomar Jr, and Rowand. Jose and Graffy are alright too.

Bmr31
Bunting doesnt begin to address our problems. Does anyone on the sox realize with a man on 2nd and nobody out, the # 1 priority is to advance the runner to 3rd? No, im serious?

Bmr31
Why do that when you can hit a two run shot. LMAO! THank you nuke, at least now i realize im probably not the only one that realizes 2/3 of our outs tonight, if not more, were popouts. Bmr31
No problem just trying to do my part. There are times to swing for the long ball and believe me we got the players to do it. When youre leading, or when you have a 2-1, 3-1, 2-0 count. But cmon guys, when youre down 2-1 with a man on 2nd and noone out, MOVE THE f***ING RUNNER. YASNY
We aren't the best at manufacturing runs, that's for sure.
