Bartolo

That's 2 dominating starts in a row against the Yankees and Red Sox. When this guy is on he's the best pitcher on this team...Period. I had a feeling a couple weeks ago that Bartolo was gonna step it up the last month. It's a shame we couldn't get him the win. Lets hope Buehrle makes up for that pathetic garbage ass start last Friday...

Agreed...heck of a start. Its too bad Carlos hit into the doubleplay. Williamson made a good pitch and Carlos didn't really try to pull it, unfortunately it went right to the 2nd baseman.

In the 1st I thought it was a joke that Frank wasn't on 3rd. I never got to see a good replay on Frank's baserunning, but he must of really f'd it up. He should of been at least 4 steps off of 2nd waiting to see if the ball would be caught. Considering the 2nd baseman fielded it, bobbled it and then had to turn around to make a throw there is no freaking excuse to get thrown out.

I'd say that was probably the key play of the game. I had the BoSox cast and they didn't talk about it, and I don't know whether Hawk and DJ did, but I'd say that was bigger then Clee's double play. I will excuse Lee cause things happen and Carlos has been doing really good, but bad baserunning I don't excuse at least not too often, especially on a play like that.

Still hell of a game, too bad it was a loss, but its huge to shutdown the best offense in the majors.

I don't know if I would call it bad base running. Frank's just slow as hell...

If Frank is three to four steps off the bag at second in the first inning, he's toast. The ball was no more then 30 feet out of the infield, and Walker just let it drop.

3 steps and looking at the infielder. Walker has to turn and then make a throw. He should easily get back in time at that distance, imo.

I was at the game & if anyone was going to get that one it was going to be the 2nd baseman & he would have done an over the shoulder job on it. He woulda been fine a couple of steps off the bag.

LOL...I wonder if tonight's performance was good enough for a lot of Sox fans.  I don't expect Colon to get too many props.  After all It wasn't Buehrle or Cotts...

Get off it dude. I think you'd be hard pressed to find even the most harshest Colon critic giving him any kind of s*** after that type of pitching performance. The offense, yet again, scores either 15 runs or 1 run.

I wouldn't be surprised considering how Bartolo constantly gets s*** on in here. Even though u got other guys on the team performing at the same level or below who get praised...

I'm a big Colon backer as well, and he did a helluva job tonight...

But...

Loaiza has been THE rock solid guy in the rottation all year, deserves to be the team MVP, and may be the Cy Young winner.  He deserves to get the ball in a playoff game 1 situation.

Absolutely. Loaiza, in 2003, is without a doubt the best pitcher on the White Sox.

I know Loaiza has been our best pitcher in 2003...But he's not our BEST pitcher. When Bartolo is on he's more dominant then Loaiza in my opinion. We've seen Bartolo in the 2nd half alone make beef jerkey outta the Mariners, Yankees, And Red Sox line-ups. I think if we make the playoffs we should go Colon, Buehrle, Loaiza...

I can't agree with you. I gotta go with Estaban.

Couldn't agree more. And that's why i want the guy back

Colon hasn't been as dominating this year like in some past, but when he has been good he has been the best. He has stepped up after almost every loss he takes and pitches great and that's what I like about him. He has stretches where he is good, games where he is simply the best and at times he falters, but he never makes excuses when he doesn't pitch good. I hope we can sign Bartolo to a contract and keep him in a Sox uniform. I don't like the idea of bringing someone on board as a rent-a-player. Bill Veeck had to do it in the 70's, but I don't think Jerry Reinsdorf, et al, are in the same boat. We need to look at keeping Colon, Alomar and Everett for the next few years anyway. You want fans to come to the park well we are in a position now to put together a dominating team to contend with anyone. Let's keep it together please...

I would love to see Alomar and Colon back. Colon especially. He's had somewhat of an off year. But his off-year would be a career year for a lot of guys. This guy is no doubt capable of 20 wins.
