Yes, but you would have thought the same with Erik Johnson coming into this season.

I'll be absolutely shocked if Bassit posts better numbers for a month than EJ did last September...especially when facing teams that are desperate and hungry for wins like that Tigers' line-up.

And what would you have thought about Hector Noesi?

I'm excited to see the Hound on the South Side and it looks like it's the night game on WGN. Thought this callup might be a good idea, considering he'd just gotten up to speed again - why wait around for the AFL?

A Tigers beat writer is now saying Sale vs Scherzer in Game 1.

The big Kyle Ryan-Chris Bassitt matchup at night...probably.

The k zone for Sale on the White Sox website is for the afternoon game, so it looks like your match ups are probably correct.

I see now hat Chisox.com has Bassit listed as the starter for the night game of the DH Saturday. I still haven't seen anything official posted by the team though. Sale is now the starter in the day game. Saturday evening game in on WGN and as much as I love to watch Chris Sale pitch it will be fun to see a minor league prospect go for the Sox

Hope so. I got tickets for the night game.

The next Jose Quintana??? Q only had 9 starts in AA before coming to the bigs to stay. Bassitt has had 14 dating back to last year. In those 14 starts he's got an 1.97 ERA with a 73/31 K/BB rate in 82 innings.....Walks are a bit high but maybe Coop can see something he can fix in that regard. Here's a nice fangraphs article from last year... http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/chris-bas...ching-prospect/

thanks for the post and info

I get it, but it's not like he's had a big picture worth of starts anyway.

Neither did Q. Bassitt has had 54 starts in the minors, Q had 50, 29 of which were below A+. All of Bassitts starts have been above A+.

Sox are pretty good at evaluating pitching, if they think he's ready, I'll accept that.
