Danks's pitching stat ranks, of qualified starters:

ERA: 88th of 93

FIP: 93rd of 93

xFIP: 92nd of 93

SIERA: 89th of 93

I see no TWTW column

So if there is 30 teams and he is about 90th, that is a pretty solid #3 or 4 starter, which is what they need him to be. You should try to watch a game and just enjoy it instead of having to go reference Fangraphs to see if they can explain to you what you watched.

Considering nobody's reading this thread anyway, a random thought: how dumb was it for the Tigers to give Cabrera a new contract last offseason, considering his contract expired after 2015? His value was hardly going to rise. The only thing it could really do is decline, and it has quite a bit. wRC+ of 138 this year compared to 191 last year. His value would actually be hurt worse but he's benefited by moving from being a liability at 3B to slightly plus at 1B. A decent amount of it is driven by a probably unlucky HR/FB% but still, that contract is gonna start hurting big, and soon. It's all the more bizarre when they moved Fister partly to clear money.

Well no, because a lot of pitchers who are not qualified have provided a lot more value than Danks.

I don't have to reference Fangraphs to see if they can explain what I just watched, I use it to supplement and improve my knowledge. I enjoy both the game itself and reading about the game. On the flipside, a lot of people could do with reading a bit about advanced statistics, because there were quite a few on here talking about how Danks was back earlier this year just because his ERA was under 4.

They'll just trade him to Texas for someone much younger.
