Flash Tizzle
Supposedly she told some Cub fan to stick something up his ass. These Cub callers have been calling nonstop for about half an hour. She was basically mentioning that the Cubs got a lucky break the first game, and got screwed the second. It all evened out. This guy was believing the Cubs should of gotten both calls, which infuriated Julie Sweika. Some quality radio going on tonight, shouldnt be missed. mreye
Murph and Fred were talking about that this morning. I guess she got pretty heated. Knowing the Score, they'll probably fire her.
Steff
I didn't hear this, but from the sounds of it.. it was absolutely hillarious! What prompted it? Usually she's pretty level headed isn't she? (I don't listed to the Score).

Steff
The Cub fans were pissed because she was saying that Alou's hit was foul. I gathered that much.. but was something said to get that reaction from her....? (i.e.. you're an idiot Julie)
mreye
I didn't hear it, but the way I understand it is that they were pretty hard on her because she refused to even be open about the call. She saw it as foul and that was it! They kept at her until she blew up, I guess.

Jordan4life_2003
Cubs fans r the dumbest most 1 sided f***ers in sports. The Cards got screwed in gm 1 as the Cubs got screwed in gm 2. I hope Julie handled those losers...
CubKilla
Cubs fans r the dumbest most 1 sided f***ers in sports. The Cards got screwed in gm 1 as the Cubs got screwed in gm 2. I hope Julie handled those losers... No doubt. Anyway you slice it, the Cubs and Cardinals split the DH yesterday. Bad ump calls aside, the Cubs should have lost Game 1 and (probably) won Game 2. With the bad calls, the outcomes were reversed. Good to see the national and local media jump all over the "classiest" fans in baseball when they threw trash (once again ) on the ballfield after the bad call. Imagine if Sox fans responded that way.

YASNY
The thing is ... Julie S. was right, It was a foul ball. Just as soon as that umpire pointed foul, it officially became a foul ball. Cub fans can't argue that.
quickman
I gathered that much.. but was something said to get that reaction from her....? (i.e.. you're an idiot Julie) Steff, I did hear it. It was very early in her show. It went like this. She commented that the Ump made the right call on the alou foul ball. Then she stated she was sick and tired of Alou and alfonseca's antics over the past two years and that they should realize they are hurting the team in a pennant race. She sadi she was fed up with them. At that point she took phone calls. The first caller she took was an asshole who claimed: (Paraphrasing) He thought she was a women that knew baseball but she is just like other women who did not understand the game. He went on to say he had a little TV in the stands and Fox sports net would not replay the replay until later in the game. At that time it was clear the ball was fair and that she knows nothing about sports. Ok a couple of observations; 1) the guy sounded a bit drunk but still making his point. 2) there is no way the guy could pick up fox sports net unless they bring a cable to him and his little tv. Julie let him talk then went off on him stating that the ump made the right call, and although he thinks she should be at home baking cookies its her job to know baseball and know it well. She said if he didn't like her comments he doesn't have to call. She didn't mind the disagreement but thought the personal issue of being a woman was overboard. Then she hung up on him. After that the flood gates opened and the dumb ass Cub fans just poured it on.
BurlyMan56
Julie is very intelligent and knows her baseball. For the Radio, I listen to her and Dave Wills about the Sox. She must of had a bad day.
quickman
Why? she was right, the guy told her because she was a woman that she didn't know what she was talking about. Way over the line.
