I'm guessing no would be the answer to that one. 8. Starts. Since. 2011.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Gotta love taking the bat out of Abreu's hands. But there's no such thing as lineup protection. So much for semien always being clutch...odds of winning this one decreasing by the minute. 1dog
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 09:04 PM) More bench brilliance - take the bat out of Abreu's hands. And Hawk agrees with it 100% because "you have to put a guy in scoring position." Of course, he also thought Taylor caught that ball.

Balta1701
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 10:07 PM) And everyone wrote off victor Martinez three years ago too. Baseball is a what have you done for me lately kind of game. You realize that's like saying "Jim Thome was a hall of famer so everyone who strikes out 175 times in a year is going to the hall of fame", right? Victor Martinez is having a career year at age 36. We should say screw it to Martinez and sign Konerko for 3 more years this offseaosn. Martinez had his best year at 36, Paul konerko can only get better from this point and getting better after that time is the norm, right?

Of course, he also thought Taylor caught that ball. Ventura simply cannot think 2 moves ahead - that's been obvious for 3 seasons. He gives away an out AND takes the bat out of the best hitter's hands. He's a third grader. not to mention the complete tank job this team has done 2 years in a row. fathom
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 6, 2014 -> 02:12 AM) Ventura simply cannot think 2 moves ahead - that's been obvious for 3 seasons. He gives away an out AND takes the bat out of the best hitter's hands. He's a third grader. Still don't know how he has a job after this year. In the 2nd inning, Hawk and Stone was saying how many stupid base running mistakes have been made by young guys and veterans this year. A lot of the same mistakes have been made two straight years now.
Dick Allen
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 09:12 PM) Ventura simply cannot think 2 moves ahead - that's been obvious for 3 seasons. He gives away an out AND takes the bat out of the best hitter's hands. He's a third grader. If it is so much better to not bunt and have the runner at 1st, wouldn't a genius manager like yourself, just walk Abreu anyway ?
