It makes me really happy to note that the Yankees still owe Alex Rodriguez $61 million, at least. His $30 million in homer bonuses starts kicking in with just 6 more dingers.

Historic Achievement

A-Rod could receive an additional $6 million each for five milestones that the team designates as historic achievements. They are contemplated to be tying the home run marks of Willie Mays (660), Babe Ruth (714), Hank Aaron (755) and Barry Bonds, and breaking Bonds' major league record.

If the Yankees really want to be done with ARod, I wonder what their next move is. He's eligible to return next season and will likely be healthy, and if he's healthy, they can't put him on the DL. Do they DFA him?

Hey I found the Sox a dh!

Don't you at least bring him to spring training? Maybe he found the fountain of youth during his year off and can suddenly hit again? That team is desperate for offense

Girardi said a few weeks ago that he expects Arod to be at third next season

I wonder if that is lip service or if he knows the Yankees arent buying him out

I have a hard time seeing the Yankees write him a $60 million check.

But it sure looks like the court cases ended a few years ago and they're not getting rid of that contract really at all.

I am really shocked that the Yankees didn't try voiding his contract based on everything that happened in Miami. Maybe they still could.

I thought i remembered that voiding it was a lot more complicated, and the Union didnt want to go down that road(ie. didnt want ARod to be an example that other teams would follow in a similar situation), so the Yankees were "dissuaded"

Though no official decision yet, #Rangers expected to decline $13.5M option on Alex Rios for next season.

Possible LF option for the Sox?

I wonder if he'd be worth a 2 year 8 mil a year offer.
