Yup. I am now in the group of folks that feel an over pay is in order if a team wants to acquire Alexei. Thank you Hanley and Boston. :D

Or does this make bogaerts available and pushes Alexei's value down?

They might move Hanley to the OF.

You are correct, oversight on my part.

I certainly hope not. If Boston keeps Boegarts at SS and moves Hanley to LF then I suppose it would not bring Alexei's value down.

IMO, it helps but we all know what they say about opinions. :D

Dave Martinez makes it official he will leave #Rays, via statement: "It was a hard decision that I think is best for myself and the Rays."

Now ex-#Rays coach Martinez says he has "chosen to move forward + consider other opportunities that may present themselves outside (org)."

Tomas to AZ for Abreu money.

Given that price tag, the Sox either feel they have their money committed elsewhere more appropriately right now or they really did not like what they saw from Tomas. That is a seemingly incredibly reasonable price tag.

I was kind of surprise and disappointed. I thought the sox was the surprise team to

come in and make the bid.

if it is as you said, they may have saw something they did not like, I wonder what it

was. I am just thinking they have their money planned for someone.

oh well gots to see how this plays out and how Tomas does during the season.

Watch his swing compared to Abreu's and you'll see why his price tag was that low

that is far way more advance info than I know. I will take your word. so much for

his team of putting out the hype.

well he is down, I guess Yoan is next.

So which DBacks outfielder do we trade for this year? They have Tomas, Pollack, Trumbo, Ross, Inciarte, and my personal favorite David Peralta.

If they can get Trumbo for super cheap he could be a solid platoon partner with LaRoche. By super cheap I mean a bunch of nobodies.

this is a good post, too bad you didn't posted it on the main sox page.

interesting question.

edit ..... i too will go for David Peralta.... now the question is at what cost?

I'd love to grab Inciarte with either of Pollack/Peralta being my second choice. Inciarte would look great batting #2 behind Eaton. Maybe the offer Flowers and Semien for Inciarte and Montero? I'm probably way off but you know what I mean. Something like that allows the Sox to use Phegley in the backup C role.

i really doubt that AZL will go for that, he just won the ROY award. he is their

fixture.
