Then do a 3 way. Happ is a mediocre pitcher on a 1 year contract who is 32.

Saunders would have plugged a big hole. And that's the weakness of the Sox - holes.

We have a good core. Plug the gaping holes and this team improves a lot. Don't plug them and getting another "Star" won't get us anywhere.

Im sure Hahn would love to snap his fingers and make any GM do a deal with him like that.

The Cubs have a couple of good arms in Arrieta and Hendricks. There's also a chance Jackson stops putting up a 6 ERA when he figures it out again. Lester would give them 4 good arms. He won't make them an instant contender, but that would be a decent rotation.

But I firmly believe that Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller, Burke Badenhop, Dallas Trahern, Eulogio De La Cruz and Mike Rabelo are going to be of great benefit to the Marlins before all is said and done. The consensus on Maybin and Miller are that they are can't-miss prospects.

Updated: #Tigers sending Robbie Ray, acquired in last year's Doug Fister deal, to Arizona. http://on.freep.com/1s22GJo

That Fister deal is a train wreck lol.

To be honest, the Tigers have makde some pretty dumb trades recently.

They did just receive Shane Greene back in this trade though, which will effectively replace the starting spot that was vacated by Fister. So, they actually did do well fixing a problem that they unnecessarily created, imo

Except for the fact that Fister's a much better pitcher with a super solid track record in Detroit.

Cost savings...there's that.

Im talking about after the fact, after realizing that Robbie Ray was a terrible return for Fister. I understand that Fister is the better option for Detroit, and I am sure they do as well. At least they were able to move past the mistake and put someone in their rotation that can be there every 5th day.

Plus, Greene had a nice season last year.

Luke Hochevar breakdown with #Royals: $4M in 2015, $5.5M in 2016, $7M mutual option for 2017 w/ $500K buyout.

Hochevar deal includes a salary escalator that raises his 2016 salary from $5.5M to $6.5M with 23 GS or 150 IP in 2015. #Royals

With incentive reached/option exercised, Hochevar complete deal could reach $17.5M over three years with #Royals.

Hochevar deal includes performance bonuses for both starting and relieving. Unclear at the moment what his role will be in 2015.

Sources: Markakis leaning toward surgery to repair bulging disc in neck. Recovery time up to 12 weeks. #Braves knew of possibility.

Before signing Markakis, #Braves viewed report of specialist who did independent evaluation of him. Confident he will be ready Opening Day.
