Neshek gets over $6 million a year for 2 years. I wonder how much less these guys would have been paid had the A's and the great Jon Lester not blown a big lead late in the WC game. The Royals would have been eliminated instead of almost winning a WS with a pretty average team with great defense and a great bullpen.

 

The floodgates were going to open for relievers getting paid eventually, but probably not now IMO.

Desmond's name has been rumored but I'd guess Zimmermann is the player that was speculated on.
