I can't see them Non-Tendering Viciedo, like they suggested. They can probably get some kind of failed prospect in a trade.

The problem is that the tender deadline comes up pretty early in the off-season. Of course the Sox would love to make a trade, but Viciedo probably isn't any team's Plan A, and by the time they get to Plans C and D, the tender deadline will be passed and I really don't think the Sox should commit $4M to him.

They won't non-tender him. They will offer him for sure, and then try to move him.

Reading that reminded me of how great the Sale and Quintana contracts are.

I think one of the most important (if not THE most important) thing to address is a LH power bat. Beyond that, the bullpen needs a lot of help.

Should be an interesting offseason.

Someone the other day mentioned Carlos Gonzalez. I feel like it's too much to hope for, but it'd be nice.

If you trade him to a rebuilding team that wants to take a chance on him and thinks maybe they see something they can correct and they have their own failed prospect that they do not believe will is fixable, then they can trade him at that point in time.

I would like CarGo I know he's hurt at times but he's good.

he is hurt a lot more than "at times". The most games he has played in one season is 145.

This is his career games played

2014 70 games

2013 110 games

2012 135 games

2011 127 games

2010 145 games

2009 89 games

2008 85 games

the guy is only 28 years old and has missed a tremendous amount of time to injuries already

And to add to that he's owed

16M in 2015

17M in 2016

20M in 2017

With his escalating salary and injury history, Colorado would have to send money or be willing to exchange bad contracts like Gonzalez for Danks. Even then, that escalating salary scares me and I would probably still want some money from Colorado.

Yet, for some reason, I'm intrigued by the idea of Gonzalez playing LF in a Sox uni. Go figure.

I just don't see the Rockies FO trading Tulo or Cargo. They are fan favorites and they have said repeatedly over the last couple seasons that those 2 aren't going anywhere. The FO in Denver is so twisted. All they care about it the fan experience at the field, and bringing in quality men to their team instead of just searching for talent. Monfort refuses to fire O'Dowd. Any other team would have fired O'Dowd long ago...it's ridiculous. They fail to recognize that they need to adopt the philosophy that the White Sox finally have, in drafting and signing ground ball pitchers.

If someone is willing to trade for him before the tender deadline, that's great, but I don't see the Sox committing themselves to $4M+ just to hope that somebody will take him off their hands later in the winter.

How about a right hander that kills lefties? If the splits are 10 points or less regardless of the pitcher they face, bring 'em on!

The Sox are in the process of acquiring all the left-handed pitchers, so how their hitters fare against lefties will be irrelevant once Spring Training intrasquad games are over.

The problem is that the manager made it clear this year he will design a lineup to break up righties if at all possible. If you can suggest someone who fits, but the manager drops him in the order because he's a righty and there needs to be a lefty in-between him and Abreu, that sorta doesn't work out.

Plus, he's not that good of a hitter outside of Coors Field. .258/.314/.437 in his career away from Coors.

No thanks.

If a CarGo for Danks + prospect swap happened, I'd be 100% behind that.

Assuming the prospects aren't great, I'd take that every time.

But I think we all know it ain't happening. Danks at Coors would be a nightmare.
