flavum
I remember him playing some awful LF in Anaheim. Not sure if it was just a bad series.

cabiness42
Does this guy have options left or does he have to be DFA'd if he doesn't make the team in the Spring?
NorthSideSox72
New 4th OF? Sierra and Taylor gone, want some competition for Danks I guess. Both LHB OFs, but Shuck is high contact and OBP with low power, kind of the opposite of Danks. Stats put him as an average-ish defender on the corners, has barely played CF in the majors. Unless they think he can handle CF pretty well defensively, I'm not sure I get this move.
Dick Allen
The White Sox had to offset the Maddon press conference in some way. Well played, Hahn.
flavum
The Sox press release says the 40-man is at 37. With Shuck and Jones added, I count 39.

LDF
I see J.B. Shuck as a low investment high reward kind of a player. doesn't hurt. now if Hahn can get a RP that will be floating around the internet soon.

Defensive metrics absolutely loved him last season in the corner OF spots, but you're right, we don't have much info on his CF defense. He seems like a nice 4th OF to have though. Jose Abreu
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) This guy flicked off fans in LF at USCF before. I don't really care but I thought it was worth mentioning. How do you know?
southsider2k5
QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 04:09 PM) I've met this guy so it's not entirely random. I know he has season tickets in the second row in LF. Matt Adams @2015WhiteSox The guy that I saw flick off fans in the US Cellular OF. Neat. RT @ESPNChiSox: White Sox claim OF J.B. Shuck off waivers from Indians. I'd take that with a grain of salt. Who knows what an idiot fan said to earn that.
Eminor3rd
At the very least, this guy is your "well nothing worked out this offseason" back-up plan platoon partner for Viciedo, right? Or was that Jordan Danks?
BlackSox13
And here we've all been focused on the likes of Melky, CarGo, Rasmus etc and Hahn pulls this gem of a rabbit out of his hat! Eat your heart out Jordan Danks!
Lillian
He looked like he might profile as an Adam Eaton type, when I first started looking into his career. You know, high pitch count, good OBP, good speed and defense. Then I read this: http://monkeywithahalo.com/2013-articles/j...hink-he-is.html That wasn't very reassuring, at all. SoxAce
Just noticed that catch he made it the outfield.. then looked like he kicked the dude on purpose coming back in the field. Looks like a douche, but who am I to judge..
caulfield12
Hard to say. A lot of players would take someone trying to grab them (while in the stands) the wrong way, BUT BUT BUT it's in his home park, so you'd think he would at least consider the possibility that his home fans were trying to prevent an injury in that situation.
