Baron
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) i am being perfectly honest here. would that be a fair deal? i am very guilty of over valuing the sox players and prospects. Yes it's absolutely fair. Keep in mind I've conferred with many other outsiders(of both teams) on this issue. Alexei's value should be high. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) Hahn has about as much chance of getting Wheeler for Alexei as he does of sending Jordan Danks to the Angels for Mike Trout. Great. Then we hold on to Alexei and pay him less than the Mets are paying Cuddyer for the next two years.

GreenSox
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:28 AM) 1. The team hasn't gotten better on defense. 2. When has acquiring NL talent actually benefited the Sox? I think they are cursed in this area. Carlos Quentin Adam eaton I'm not sure AL talent acquisitions have been any better

Bob Sacamano
Looking at the list of pitching depth I made earlier, I forgot about the Rookie of the Year de Grom. They can't spare 1 or 2 young arms? They seem stacked on pitching.

dpd9189
Hahn is a smart guy, if he does move Ramirez he won't give him away. The Sox will something worthwhile in return.
2nd_city_saint787
If they refuse to give up one Wheeler/Syndergaard what would you guys think about Niese and Lagares? Is that even "less"? Niese is still youngish at 28 and would be a solid #3. Lagares is one of the best defensive outfielders in the league.

If the Mets refuse to give up Wheeler or Snydergaard then Alexei plays SS for the White Sox and the Mets continue their search. The Mets are the desperate team and not the Sox. I can see the logic behind the Mets perspective though. Niese and Gee have two years of control left just like Alexei and are younger/ cheaper than Alexei so in the eyes of the Mets, it makes sense . Problem for the Mets is that Alexei is quite valuable in the eyes of the Sox, and rightfully so. IMO, I would tell the Mets to f*** off if they really have mentioned Colon. By bringing up Colon, the Mets are obviously trying to low ball the value of the very player they desire.

LDF
QUOTE (striker @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 03:46 AM) If you trade Ramirez, who plays SS? Siemen for 1 yr, hopefully Anderson will be ready to step in by then.
BlackSox13
I stand by the idea of signing Jed Lowrie and then trade him in a year or two when Anderson is ready. That's IF Alexei is even traded which I doubt.
