Butter Parque
You develop leadership. Its hard to believe a player acquired this season will rise up to become the clubhouse leader. Find good ballplayers and leaders will arise organically.
BlackSox13
Really Hayes? Are ya having a slow day, perhaps a little sluggish? Grab a cup of coffee, sit down and watch some footage from the White Sox 2014 season. Abreu is the " leader " of the White Sox with the way he carries himself on the field, in the dug out and off the field. Anyone that watched Sox baseball in 2014 should be able to see that. Absolutely guys. Good call on Sale, Alexei and Eaton. I think a case can be made for Q as well with the way he quietly goes about his business without negative emotion. The Sox have leaders, they need ball players to fill in some holes.

greg775
Torii Hunter wouldn't be the worst addition in the world.
caulfield12
Royals might get Hunter for RF and Ryan Howard (with a huge subsidy) for DH. That would give them an almost perfectly balanced line-up. LH Gordon Moustakas Hosmer Howard RH Cain Infante Perez Escobar Hunter

caulfield12
Depends on whether you think Howard will outproduce Butler's 2014 and whether Hunter will outproduce Dyson/Aoki. Definitely more of a "veteran" feel like the Tigers have with those two names added.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) Depends on whether you think Howard will outproduce Butler's 2014 and whether Hunter will outproduce Dyson/Aoki. Definitely more of a "veteran" feel like the Tigers have with those two names added. Expecting anything positive from Howard is dangerous. Hunter should outproduce Dyson & Aoki, but it's still not a very strong lineup. Of course, the team's strength lie in their pitching & defense anyway. harfman77
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 17, 2014 -> 06:54 PM) "Leadership" is overrated. Find talented ballplayers and win ball games and the clubhouse figures itself out. I disagree. Leadership is important on ballclubs because things are not always going to go your way and it is good to have someone who has been through it all to help stabilize the emotions in the clubhouse and focus on doing the little things to win games. Someone that will hold teammates accountable for not putting the appropriate work in either during the offseason or in preparation. Successful teams have good leadership.
