witesoxfan
Multi year offer doesn't mean much of anything to me. Frankly, I'd have no problem signing Masterson to a 2 year, $8 million deal because I think he can get a 1 year, $8 million deal. Depending on the AAV, that might be a really bad deal for him. Kyyle23
QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) White Sox aren't interested in Betts or Bogaerts Kyle. They want a package headed by Marrero and Owens. I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now because I was wrong
greg775
Can you imagine if we got Masterson? We might have the best rotation in Sox history, OK modern Sox history. Sale, Q, Samardja, Masterson (if he rebounds), Danks (if he continues to rebound). All those other guys in the bullpen? Robin could have some amazing options. ChiliIrishHammock24
I hope it's Masterson on a 1-year deal, the idea being to flip him midseason if the Sox are out of it, moving Rodon in to the rotation.

I don't think that's realistic. Have you seen the contracts McCarthy and liriano received?

Sale, Q, Samardzija and two of Masterson, Danks or Rodon could be dominant. 2005 Rotation fWAR ranks: Buehrle 4, Garcia 19, Garland 34, Contreras 38, Hernandez 98 Pick up one more good starter and cobble a good year out of Noesi/Rodon in the 5 spot and 2015 could blow 2005 out of the water. Bullpen is a different story. Of all the components of the 2005 team, the bullpen is the all-time epic unit.

Robin could have some amazing options. For someone who loves that 05 team so much, you really forgot about that pitching staff... And Masterson would not make this rotation that much better. If he bounces back, sure, but the issues he had last year were very alarming. Decrease in velocity, bad control, just being bad in general.
