I would guess between this and the move for JB Shuck, Danks won't be back.

I think whoever of the 3 performs best in ST gets the 4th OF job.

I'd still favor Danks though. Campaign can only run and his defense is eh, and he has a noodle arm. Shuck I don't know much about. Banks can play all 3 OF positions above average.

I believe Danks has an option left, so he can be sent to AAA if he does not win the 4th OF job.

He could, but at this point it might be that time to move on for everyone involved. 28. Not that good. 5 years in Charlotte.

If he's going to be a journeyman, it's about that time to move along.

The thing is, these guys they signed are in the same boat, or maybe in one leaking more water. Losing Jordan Danks isn't going to matter, but neither is Shuck or Campana. They suck just as much.

I agree, but that's just the way it is. Bench players and run of the mill bullpen arms bounce around. Danks hasn't bounced yet, but it's probably mostly because his name is Danks.

They do have time and money invested in him. Maybe he will be a trade throw in. I just doubt these guys were brought in to replace him or battle for a job, because frankly, it isn't even an upgrade.

If any of them are getting much playing time with the White Sox, either a lot of people got hurt or it is garbage time.

So who are the likely outfielder candidates at charlotte? Trayce, Mitchell, anyone else? Because the Sox do seem to owe Charlotte a better roster next year.

Josh Richmond will be in the mix. Also, not sure if Christian Marrero has been (or will be) re-signed, though he's more 1B/DH than OF at this point.

Likely it is Thompson, Mitchell (if he's not gone in the Rule V), Richmond, and one or two of the Danks-Campana-Shuck group pointing at 3-4 OF spots in Charlotte.

Love it for a minor league deal. Speedy lefty with a solid glove. You can't have too many of those.

Agreed. His name alone makes this the best signing of the offseason by far.

Too bad he's not Cuban and that's not a Cuban name.
