That's approximately $350-400 million committed to 2 pitchers for the next 5-7 years at a combined cost of approximately $55-60 million per year. That is not going to happen.

Good point Boston will also pay the salary of Lester for us.

(My original post was in jest by the way as is this one).

We don't turn away from any conversation, but there are certainly some that are a lot shorter than others.

Yes, as in when the Red Sox call about Sale, Hahn says that the package starts with Pedroia, Nava and Owens, and then the conversation is over.

If I understand that guy's tweets correctly, he says that

1)It happens only if the Sox get Jeff Samardjiza.

2)The Sox think they can get more for Sale than they pay for Jeff Samardjiza (no kidding - by value, it should be 8 times more; 1 v. 5 year control; Sale is a much better pitcher)

3)The Sox don't like Betts and Bogaerts but they love Henry Owens.

2) is what bothers me about these rents. Sale SHOULD bring back 8 time what you'd pay for Jeff Samardiza. But, it would be nowhere close to that. Thus, No value in trading for Samardjiza or in trading away Sale.

i am a little confuse. are you asking for Hahn to do something, like to trade

Sale?

No. Just the tweets from people 'in the know' like Garfien, Hayes, Merkin, etc. It's getting a little old talking about what they might do. I just want to see what they actually do in the next 5-6 days.

Obviously Sale won't be traded.

whew.... i was just not sure what you meant. but i do agree.

i am torn between 2 things with the tweets. i hate the simple obvious tweets that is a given.

however, i do like to know what is happening.

bottom line. i would prefer to know what is happening.

btw thanks for answering.

I had a funny conversation with a lifelong dodger fan and season ticket holder yesterday who couldn't believe the Sox want either Seager or Pederson for Alexei. He was so pissed, especially when I pointed out that neither of those 2 have done s*** in the bigs yet. I got a good laugh out of it.

you have to excuse that person, probably had a shelter life.

:D
