Let the fun almost begin... It's the calm before the storm, baby!

there is a lot of hype and anticipation, at least for me in this upcoming

winter meeting.

quick rhetorical question, what is planned from Hahn and the Sox.

jeeze i am really excited.

Ok so most of the talks are we are going to add an OF, SP, possibly pen help.

Who are your 3 "dream" players to acquire weather FA or Trade?

Justin Upton

Aroldis Chapman or Jonathan Papelbon

Jordan Zimmerman

Other arms I'd like to see a couple of them

Brandon Morrow (Maybe he can be a solid 3/4 or even a good reliever can't remember his stats as a closer but I don't think they were great).

Kris Medlan

Justin Masterson

Edinson Volquez

Tim Stauffer

KRod

Sergio Romo

Alexi Ogando

Joel Hanrahan (He was very good for 4 years before last year falling off the face of the earth not sure what happened)

I'm like 90% sure Hanrahan already signed with a team. Also add Beachy to your list

Yep. If we acquire another OF, he's likely traded to whoever wants him for anything. With Baltimore losing Markakis, Cruz and Young, they lack an OF and a DH. Maybe they would give Dayan a shot on the cheap.

Would love to see the Sox acquire Zimmerman, but I would have the same concerns as a potential Shark deal. He would demand a haul in return and he's a free agent after the 2015 season. Though I would be more comfortable locking him up for 4-5 years than Shark.

But I would be more comfortable in our ability to lock up Shark. ( although not very comfortable)

I think the Sox leave the Winter Meetings with at least 2 moves made:

1). Acquire an impact OF or a right-handed #2/#3 starter

2). Trade Tank for a relief prospect or lottery ticket

We'd still have some holes to fill, but I think those moves along with LaRoche & Duke would be a great starting point.

I would trade Tank for literally a lottery ticket.

One of the reporters on MLB Network called the Sox his "sleeper team" for the meetings. Also brought up Scherzer again.

I would only feel comfortable giving scherzer 6 years at about 25 mil but he already turned that down so ...should be interesting

Not saying I'd be happy with the years and money, but for the first 3-4 years, a Sale Scherzer Quintana would be incredible. Could start to make sense because I read a tweet that Lester will definitely get 7 years
