BlackSox13
Just read that the Dodgers are open to trading Dee Gordon. Anyone think the Sox have what it takes to get him? I would imagine the Dodgers would want Johnson in return so I wonder what else the Sox would have to send with Johnson in a deal. Gordon and Eaton setting the table ahead of Abreu and LaRoche sounds awesome.
Chisoxfn
Gordon is a good player but the price would be extremely steep and I can't see any way for Sox to justify that sort of price for Dee when you have a player like Micah who could turn into that type of player. I just don't see it and think the resources can be better allocated elsewhere. I am actually pretty surprised Dodgers would consider moving him. They obviously have a top prospect who plays 2B in Guerrero, but with Gordon pretty cost controlled, didn't think it would make sense to deal Gordon (guy whose ear was bitten off by Miguel Olivo). GreenSox
LF is next. See how the young guys play out at 2nd. Or Alexei for Gordon.

BlackSox13
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) LF is next. See how the young guys play out at 2nd. Or Alexei for Gordon. I would prefer having Alexei and Gordon but Gordon was a SS before the Dodgers found a spot for him to play at second base so a trade based around an Alexei for Gordon could make some sense. Maybe something like Ethier and Gordon for Danks and Johnson?
TomPickle
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) Under all day Yeah, I was just trying to make a joke about the rest of that infield's lack of power. Even in this baseball climate I don't know if you can get by with a combined 15-20 HRs between your 2B, SS, and 3B. Particularly in the White Sox case where it doesn't look like there will be much home run production from the outfield either. EDIT: I don't think trading for Dee Gordon makes a lot of sense for either team right now. Maybe before the Samardjiza trade and Robertson signing I could get behind Alexei for Gordon, but not right now. I don't see why the Dodgers would want Johnson when they already have Gordon and are looking to unload him. Both of the teams in the World Series this year got approx 20 HR out of their 2B- SS and 3B in 2014. Giants maybe a little over because Crawford has a little pop. TomPickle
Giants had closer to 35 and the Royals were a total anomaly.
cabiness42
Yeah, I really think the next position player the Sox acquire will be a corner OF.
TheFutureIsNear
Is Gordon incapable of playing SS or do the Dodgers just not like him? Seems like he would be obvious to step right in for Hanley.

Seems like he would be obvious to step right in for Hanley. He's capable of playing SS but it looks like second is his best position. Depending on the Dodgers asking price, I would take Gordon in a heartbeat. I love the idea of Gordon leading off with Eaton batting second ahead of Abreu and co. Bigsoxhurt35
Ya LF and 3B. Man I hope Davidson bounces back. Just imagine what could be next year if he and Erik Johnson bounce back. Big if though.
