Kyyle23
QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Dec 29, 2014 -> 05:55 AM) the late great Bill Veeck, they don't make baseball men like that anymore. I'm glad he was a part of white Sox history. thanks, douglas Thats because most organizations have switched from creating a circus in order to draw fans to trying to win baseball games to draw fans. Again, it has been said before in this thread, why are you more concerned about the Sox being a headline silly story than winning games? If a manager and general manager creates a team that wins games, the headlines will be there regardless, without the drama
hi8is
QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Dec 28, 2014 -> 02:30 AM) My introduction to this fine forum was not very pleasant . But now that we know each other, I'm looking forward to a very good 2015 season. With the additions made so far, I hope we're not done, there's no reason the Sox can't manage the front page all year. thanks, douglas It's just because people like me use this place partly as an escape of "real life." There's no wife, no kids, no clients, no employees, no bills, etc here... And it tends to lead to sarcasm. Seriously thou, I do wish it was 1992 again. Then I'd be able to create Google and would own the White Sox in present day. Damned it.

Douglas Rome
the other Sox site? I did find one powered by vBullitin, but it wouldn't accept me because it didn't like yahoo mail. Maybe I won't be welcomed here, someone earlier said this forum was for professional white collar folks who know a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff and don't like being talked to like a grandpa would talk to his grandkids. Anyway, I love the White Sox and I like to reminisce about baseball characters like Bill Veeck. thanks, douglas

Thanks, douglas give me a break. these mods / admin are the best and impartial group of poster i have ever been around. their tolerance for stupidity such as you are posting is far greater than i would have allowed. you are a troll. a once a night, skulking person who post dribble and then disappear. prob reading what kind of chaos you can create. ~~~ edit -- i posted some improper usage of words. so i am deleting this sentence. after thinking of what i wrote, i was wrong in this sentence. peace. LDF
QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 30, 2014 -> 12:07 AM) ok now back to something more important. how can Hahn and company continue to improve this team. i will reissue this same question with the new year being in. what can we look for from Hahn. what kind of bench type, player do the sox should be looking for? remember the soxfest is around the corner and spring training is after that.... Add me one "Marcus Semien-like" bat for the bench/IF and I think this goes from a weak bench to a strong bench.
LDF
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2015 -> 12:19 AM) Add me one "Marcus Semien-like" bat for the bench/IF and I think this goes from a weak bench to a strong bench. yeah that trade did hurt alot, but i can understand why it needed to be done, i will be extremely satisfied if that help the sox get to the playoff and further. i just wish, we as fans can get an idea from the sox brass, what is next. maybe we will find that out in soxfest. I'm in the book, look me up. thanks, douglas Welcome to the board. I'm new here myself. I'm a long time reader but recent poster because there hasn't been much to post about in recent years – at least not much good to post about. It's a lot more fun to speculate about how the White Sox are going to get better in the coming weeks. As far as further moves, if a trade for Zobrist is too expensive, maybe Adam Rosales could provide a "veteran presence" while Carlos Sanchez or Micah Johnson settles in at 2B. Rosales could play late innings at 3B while Conor Gillaspie shifts across the diamond to spell Jose Abreu at 1B. Emilio Bonifacio has been mentioned several times, and he could also fill that need.
