Where did this happen? Because if people call someone a R_______ that's something I'd actually want reported. I noted the posts going after Greg last night in the game thread but only because I checked the last couple pages after I woke up to see what had happened, and you can see that we weren't happy about that.

It was in a game thread and there were several.

Please feel free to send me links on those. There's always a challenge in game threads when people are saying "f*** you" to another poster to judge whether it's in jest or not, but I would very much agree that there's no need for using that word as an insult.

It was about a week ago or so. I'm not in to getting people banned, but I was a bit surprised it was allowed to continue.

Are you saying it is OK to blast Robin because the majority of the site incorrectly blames him for everything? Just look at what was posted. I did nothing wrong.

You know exactly what I and Balta are saying. Posts which are looking for nothing else but to antagonize people aren't OK. That is it. Period. End of story. No ifs. No buts. No pointing at someone else to justify your own actions. Stop trolling.

One reality of this site is that the admins typically don't see every page of game threads. If it hits 10:30 pm and the closer isn't on, I have to sleep.

The original post was "Kris Bryant is playing CF today". No one mentioned how Robin Ventura would be viewed if he'd made that call until you did.

If "how would Robin Ventura be viewed if he did this" is going to be brought up every single time a manager anywhere in baseball makes a poor decision or a good decision, then this page will quickly become unreadable.

You're only getting a little bit of the overall conversation which was a carry over from another thread.

Exactly the point. It doesn't need to carry over.

So you don't use any information you may receive from one thread in another? If I say Jose Quintana sucks, and then say I have always thought Jose Quintana is great, you would never use that against me? . The information revealed on this thread wasn't available the last conversation.

The point is that its better to isolate it in one thread.

Agree with that....and it could go for me talking smack about Ventura, Danks or Beckham as well.

Thats why I am deliberately staying out of game threads this weekend...because no matter what happens, Greg and I are both too close to the Royals.

My admiration is more along the variety of exactly what Adam Eaton said about them. And the same exact things many of us said about the Twins in the past. It cant always be luck when another team beats you 15 out of 18 games.

Now back to Schwarber is the next Babe Ruth/Joey Gallo talk.

What happened, another awful defensive play

Yep - looked a lot like what avi did, but on a much more playable ball. Chapman got out of it. Let's see if Byrdman can make up for it here

The regulars to this thread who have a spot reserved for Jorge Soler in Cooperstown may want to take another look. I said last year that his crazy-fast rise through their system didn't allow any kind of "book" to be formed on the guy.

Now that such a book is developing, he's K'ing at a 40% clip and the OPS is plummeting. He's a great talent, but still a long way from a surefire star.

Now watch him go on a tear, thanks to me. :P

The bolded strikes me as an odd approach to this forum.

I think that is part of the problem Balta and others are referring to.

Bryant's been an RBI machine, 9 in 35+ AB's.

Of course no homers yet, but still has very reasonable BB/K ratio.

Fowler's been the perfect addition for them so far. Good table setter for that 2-3-4. The injuries in the division have really helped close any talent gaps that existed.

Some local jack--s already has the Cubs at 8th in their MLB power rankings. Of course the White Sox are 19th.

Russell with some big clutch hits so far but he's still striking out 50% of the time (ala Baez)...how's his defense at 2B so far? Trouble adjusting? DP chemistry with Castro?

Not that power rankings matter, but Cliff Floyd of ESPN had the Cubs 4th on his power rankings. I also just saw a tweet from some writer who said the Cubs are "unstoppable". Aren't they in 2nd place still? I mean, they are playing well, but "unstoppable"??
