2015 Cubs Catch-All thread

There was a headline on ESPN yesterday that read something like "Mets' Arms vs. Cubs' Big Bats, a Must-See". What big bats? Cubs are 23rd in runs scored and 10th in the NL. Their offense is probably their biggest weakness right now, because their bullpen has been lights out the last month and they've been getting pretty good starting pitching.

Thanks again Mets. Now we have to hear about Maddon's magic show for the next few weeks non-stop.

Just root hard for the Giants & Pirates to win the two wild card spots.

LOL, just saw that DeGrom gave up a hit to Baxter and a homer to Herrera, the Cubs real "big bats".

Giants need to acquire some starting pitching. Counting on Peavy, Lincecum and Cain seems dangerous. The Cubs have a very soft schedule the rest of the way, with a lot of games against teams likely to be sellers (Reds, Brewers, Phillies).

Did you know there's a website that compiles "winning %age of remaining schedule"?

Addison Russell had a couple of,dropped pop ups today. White Sox material.

He'd be the second most valuable position player on the Sox, I'll take him.

His team is in a playoff spot right now.

Hey, we're only five games out!

Cubs pitching has been dynamite recently, but they can't buy a run. Their offense looks bad. Rizzo is slumping, Bryant has been just OK the last few weeks outside of his two HR game, Russell has cratered the last month, and everyone else has been mediocre to bad.

I do not look forward to the Cubs/Sox series this year. At all.

Why? We have Rodon, Sale, and Q vs. Kendrick, Lester, and Arrieta. I feel pretty good about those matchups.

It's good they play each other because of ease of travel, but these games are the New Year's Eve of the baseball schedule.
