Brian
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:07 PM) I'm still baffled at the comment. Sorry if my response isn't coherent. It's ok. I'm baffled by a lot of your comments. I know you're young and I hope you go back and study films and filmmakers before the year 2000. You treat certain directors like they are in the same category as Scorsese, Fincher, Copolla, or even Capra.

Quin
Regardless of who Lex is based off of, these previews we're getting of him are making him look like a terrible villain that makes me think of Dominic Greene from Quantum of Solance. Like, worse than Marvel villains, which is a pretty low bar. Obviously reserving judgement for the film itself, but based on this trailer, it looks more and more like this movie is rushing to get everyone in the film. Quin
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Kilgrave rocks! Wasn't counting the TV villains. The TV villains, especially Kilgrave, Kingpin and Ward, have been fantastic.

I'm super biased towards Marvel, and the problem with the movie villains aside from Loki is they don't get fleshing out / they turn out to be a British actor. I hadn't seen it or Skyfall, but I saw Spectre with some friends. My dad said I needed to see Solace and Skyfall to get it. Solace...was so bad. Just. So bad. I know you're young and I hope you go back and study films and filmmakers before the year 2000. You treat certain directors like they are in the same category as Scorsese, Fincher, Copolla, or even Capra. I did study it and I am able to support myself with what I learned. I like what I like and you like what you like and there is nothing wrong with that. And I like all movies from all points of time and from all over the world. If you want to know about my favorite films and directors just ask and we can have a discussion about it. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) Let's redo IronMan and make Tony Start totally different! A depressed drug addict! It'll work! Actually Iron Man/Tony Stark is no stranger to addiction, with his biggest and most famous vice being alcohol. There was actually a period in the comics that his addiction got so bad that he stopped being Iron Man for an extended period of time. So if a filmmaker wanted to make Iron Man a depressed addict, it wouldn't be something out of the ordinary. It would be very faithful to canon. Too bad the MCU won't dive into the personal issues of their characters. *************** But characters are reinvented and reimagined ALL THE TIME. James Bond, another prime example. bmags
You don't get credit for simply reimagining a character. You get credit if you do that and its good. His interpretation looks like an inside joke.
