flavum
Twins lose to the Brewers. It would be nice to have a week where the A's sweep the Tigers, and the Brewers sweep the Twins...on the road.

flavum
The Royals bullpen played the first 54 with a 1.75 ERA. That's insane.
caulfield12
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) The Royals bullpen played the first 54 with a 1.75 ERA. That's insane. They blew a 3-0 lead in the 7th (Herrera) but Perez, Davis and Holland bailed them out. Holland now has a 29/30 stretch going in saves converted dating back to last year. Not too bad for such a low draft choice...
greg775
Torii Hunter got ejected and was throwing equipment, etc., freaking out during the latter stages of the Twins loss to the Royals. Doesn't Hunter realize the Twins are NOT contenders. The sole reason they got jump started and over .500 was their utter dominance of Chicago. That four-game sweep and then two of three in the Cell carried them the next month or so. Ridiculous. The Twins are NOT a good baseball team. caulfield12
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) That is still a 14-6 May, removing white sox from the schedule. And that is pretty good I'm pretty sure I read somewhere where they hadn't played many teams over .500, but, with the AL being what it is right now...you'd have to go back and look at the records of the teams when they played as well. At any rate, all the predictive models have them regressing back to the middle or bottom of the pack as the schedule evens out. We'll see. The Twins played yesterday with a 1 man bench and that was Suzuki getting a day off from catching.
caulfield12
QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 05:27 AM) The Twins are also down to 1 outfielder because of Hunter's suspension and Aaron Hicks getting hurt during batting practice. The Twins played yesterday with a 1 man bench and that was Suzuki getting a day off from catching. The funny thing is the Indians a week ago said Lindr wasn't ready. Where will they play Sano, by the way? 3b? 1b? Dh? Corner outfield? Or move Plouffe? When do both he and Dozier become free agents? Benchwarmerjim
They bought out Dozier arb years in the offseason so he is going to be around for a few years. Plouffe, I dont know. He has turned himself into a pretty good player and would hate to give that up after a decade of not having a good 3bman (Joe Crede was probably the best of the lot since Corey Koskie, but Crede got hurt). I have no idea where they are going to stick Sano, but he will be up sometime this year.

Do they bring him up quickly...wait on Santana, stand pat or fight for the division or wc this year?
Benchwarmerjim
If it were me, Berrios would be pitching in the Majors now. Its a bit tricky with the Twins pitching right now because of the Nolasco contract. That is a lot of money to eat to bring up a prospect. Mike Pelfrey is the obvious man to be traded but he has been pitching fantastic this year (although with a bit of a smoke and mirror act) and they seem to like him. Hughes is a mainstay, Gibson has done what they have asked. Trevor May has been striking everyone out (as far as Twins pitching can be a strikeout artist). This was supposed to be the last year of the rebuild but has turned into 'hey we are in a playoff position in the middle of June for the first time in forever'. I honestly dont know what Terry Ryan and the rest of the bigwigs will do.
