Jake
FWIW, Yordano's FIP before being demoted was essentially the same as last year (which was good), suggesting there was probably a large luck factor in his failures this year. Inherited runners scoring in particular played a huge role in his ERA being high.
fathom
Brad Ausmus is having a horrible season as the Tigers manager. They lost another close game tonight, as he pitched to Bogaerts with an open base in extra innings. With the Twins destroying the Yankees, it seems even more likely that Price gets dealt in the next week. Doing more research on it, Bogaerts is great vs LHP and with RISP. Meanwhile, Sandoval has an OPS of .411 against LHP. Tigers fans are calling for Ausmus to be fired. Edited July 25, 2015 by fathom
OmarComing25
What would the Tigers have to do between now and the Trade Deadline to stand pat? If they win all their games until then do they stay the course?
Benchwarmerjim
Alex Rodriguez is still a Twins assassin. Hit 3 home runs tonight including one of the longest hits If ever seen, went to the 3rd deck in left center field.

caulfield12
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) KC and their soft hits man. They have been magicians with that BABIP luck. Make enough contact, you make your own luck. The White Sox and Royals have about the same walk rates, neither team is filled with power hitters (Morales is the closest, and he's more of a line drive hitter whose balls carry out of the park)...but they have enough speed on the basepaths and the contact hitters in the line-up to make it work. OmarComing25
Let's go Tigers. If they win tonight I say they don't sell. I'd rather they not get good young players while also driving down Samardzija's trade value.

Benchwarmerjim
The Twins are sporting a 9 (!!!!!!) man bullpen right now and still used a position player to pitch in last night's blow out. Where is the "tirefire" emoticon?
greg775
The White Sox season has been maddening and will continue to be maddening (I fully expect the Angels to get revenge on us with a sweep and we'll lose all six or five of the six remaining with KC) but tonight's Royals game again shows how weird baseball is. They are 20 some games over .500 and rolling along but look at the things their fans have to worry about ... Davis and Holland both sucked tonight. Holland has been human this year; very good to great, but human. How will that bullpen fare in the postseason? Next ... Rios remains Rios. Can Rios the loafer actually reach a World Series? And their starting rotation. Hmmm, on paper in a 7-game playoff series. They got some pretty implodable arms. Duffy? Excellent against the Sox but has struggled some. Guthrie? Lights out against the Sox but sucks. Ventura? Excellent last postseason but will he suck this postseason? Are Cueto and Volquez enough to ride all the way through? My guess is they will go on a postseason roll and Duffy and Ventura will excel in the postseason to go with the 2 studs, but even at 23 over .500 I guarantee you the talk shows will be all worried on Friday about KC's postseason chances. p.s. any of you who are still optimistic about Sox getting over .500 at some point, remember Angels to gain revenge next road trip and KC is still out there to mop us up six more times. They had been 60-0 this year when leading in the 9th and 139-1 over the last two seasons. They also lost back-to-back games while leading after the 7th inning, first time in 111 games.
