witesoxfan
I am actually really excited about this. Crazy to think that he's going to be 33 to start the season.
elrockinMT
QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 03:40 AM) I'm BACCCKKKKKK! Seriously though. I'm surprised to see this much positivity. I know he has stayed in great shape, who knows. Maybe he can still play the outfield and have a good arm. Hit .220. Sounds like Jordan Danks to me.. But whatever. Let him try. Nothing bad can come out of it. And you refer to yourself in the third person. I love it!
fmartija
He could be the next coming of Rick Ankiel...not holding my breath though...didn't realize that he's 33, but scary to see his hitting now, way past his 'prime'.

Is that the real Brian Anderson? Or just some guy pretending to be him?
GreenSox
he's minor league filler. He never was very good - just better than anything else we had for a few years, although the manager wouldn't see it. They Sox simply aren't getting full value out of their roster if they keep these all field no-hit types purely for defensive replacement. Because of that, Adam Dunn, e.g., always had to hit against lefties. Need a better rounded bench this year. i.e. no L Garcia. (and we kept him for Semien last year; a lot of teams wouldn't have done that). Edited January 15, 2015 by GreenSox

I mean with all their offseason moves, the A's can field a lineup comprised of mostly lefty hitters or righty hitters. Ultimate flexibility. southsider2k5
I have seen absolutely nothing about Brian Anderson since camp started.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Downtown518 @ Mar 18, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) Just curious…. any reports on how BA is faring in his comeback attempt? Saw one BA writer who happened to notice him warming up on a back field. Said it was good to see him back and that he looked in great shape. That's all I've seen or heard. Maybe Quinarvy/Daniel can get some video of him when he's down there next week.
NorthSideSox72
Funny this came up - Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald did a piece for Baseball America that just went up today, talking about Anderson's comeback attempt. It's behind a paywall, but here is the link.

Obviously not well ..... but wondering if there was anything.. im guessing it was that he still couldnt hit a curveball, and maybe not even a fastball anymore.
